Wishes For You 2011

Happy New Year!  Last night my 5 year old niece spent the night, and she fell asleep before midnight.  We went out on the porch and banged our pots and pans together at 12:00, but she slept blissfully on.  Ah, kids.

While waiting for the new year to approach, I put together a couple of festive cards so I could play in some challenges.

I used new goodies here:  a glittered frame from K & Company, a $1.00 stamp from Michael's, and an embossing folder from Sizzix called Damask

Challenges entered:
Just for fun, I made a gold version of this card, but I don't like it as much, and it is not entering any challenges.  The balance and proportion are a bit off, but it's still a cute card, I think.

The gold ribbon is a Michael's half price find, but it unravels like crazy, so I won't be taking that one out to play too often.  It looks like a gold bracelet, doesn't it?

I wish you the happiest, healthiest, most prosperous New Year!  Thanks for joining me today.

Colleen

Stamps:  Michael's $1.00 bin
Paper:  Basic Black, PTI white
Ink:  Basic Black
Other:  gold and silver frames & black glittered flower from assorted K & Company pack, silver rick-rack, silver narrow ribbon from Offray, gold ribbon from Michael's, Big Shot, Sizzix "Damask" embossing folder, dimensionals

  4. Great cards, Colleen! I just love that silver rick rack. And, I think your gold version is wonderful. I don't blame you about the ribbon that ravels so much...don't need problems when we are crafting, do we?
I went to bed (with my cold) early and watched three episodes of Criminal Minds and called it a night. Wow!!!! Aren't you jealous? LOL Glad you joined the Stampin B's this week with your celebratory card/cards.
