Well, this card isn't exactly in keeping with the feel of St. Patrick's Day, but it IS my birthday on St. Patrick's Day, and this IS a birthday card!
All of the papers are SU. I played with some My Favorite Things dies for this beautiful focal point. I do love those sweet little flowers from a retired SU paper collection, and decided they needed framing.
The sentiment is from Elements of Style, trimmed, set on a scalloped circle patterned paper, and topped with Liquid Pearls. The ribbon is vintage, from my beloved Mom-mom.
I'm entering this in Simon Says Stamp's challenge: Mother's Day or Special Girl. This decidedly-feminine card is going to someone very special, for her birthday.
Hope you liked today's birthday card! It's really got a lot of my heart in it. I should give it to myself. ;-)

Happy St. Patrick's Day to my Irish sisters, but as I like to think, everyone's Irish just for a little while on St. Patrick's Day!

(good grief, looks like I needed to change the blade on my paper trimmer!) |

ReplyDeleteI am glad to see I am not the only one that still has this paper...I have so much retired SU paper it's not funny. I actually have hoarded this set because I just think it's so pretty.
I love your cards you shared. I cringe when I look at my cards. The funny thing is friends and family love that we just made a handmade card...it's funny how we evolve in this industry though.
Hope you have had such a WONDERFUL day!
Happy, Happy Birthday and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday (a day late), Colleen! All three of your cards made me smile :). I adore how you framed that gorgeous snippet of SU patterned paper on the first card. So lovely! I hope your day was an awesome one (even if you *did* have to work!)
ReplyDeleteThinking of you!
Oh my happy birthday-a day late! Such a beautiful card. Hope your birthday was awesome and amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh, I missed your birthday! So sorry. I've been just a tad preoccupied lately. Well, I hope it was a good day, even if you had to spend it at work. That's where most of mine are spent, too. Actually, it's a pretty fun place to spend my BDay, since my coworkers are so awesome. Sooooo, gorgeous card in the pink! It makes me think of the garden. Love it! Thanks for sharing your two St. Patrick's Day cards, too. Such a cute idea with the shamrocks! I cringe at my early cards, too. You have nooooo idea. The very earliest were not photographed, thank goodness, but it is fun to look back. I think your leprechaun is cute!
