Roses for Mother's Day

Kaisercraft makes a really pretty line of paper and accessories called Lady Rose.  I used some patterned papers from a 6 x 6 pad, and a smattering of die cut elements to create two cards for Mother's Day:

Here's a little Verve tucked in (Happy Phrases) among the diecuts:

On the next card, I chose something from Papertrey Ink's Daily Designs Sentiments instead:

Before I let you go, I just have to share something that made me wince (yes, typos make me wince).  I almost bought this stamp set, which coordinates with the Lady Rose line ~ just look at the fabulous damask! ~ but the grammar typo on one stamp made me halt:

Can you tell what the boo-boo is?

Stamps: (top card) Happy Phrases - Verve; (bottom card) Daily Designs Sentiments - PTI Paper: patterns - Lady Rose - Kaisercraft; Purely Pomegranate - SU; Vintage Cream - PTI Ink: Versafine Onyx Black - Tsukineko Fibers: Cameo Beige seam binding - Hug Snug Accessories & Tools: champagne pearls - Want2Scrap; floral, butterfly, frame die cuts - Lady Rose - Kaisercraft; circle die - Spellbinders

  2. I am not a native speaker but I guess it should be "a moment lasts" There is an "s" forgotten at the end of the word or am I wrong?

Anyway; I love this card. Fab use of paper and that die cut with roses is so pretty!

  5. Beautiful cards Colleen, those roses are so rich and luscious!! Too bad about the stamp set. They should discount it so at least people can make use of the pretty damask!

  12. There's no way I would be able to buy that set either - heck, even when I see errors in stamping promotions (the current PS newsletter was chock full) I have a hard time. Proofread, people.
Your cards are GORGEOUS - love those roses!

  13. Those roses are beautiful! They almost look like two-step stamping. Gorgeous cards, Colleen! I see the typo -- "last" instead of "lasts". I've been chagrined to find typos or misspellings in stamp sets, too. I once had a perfectly wonderful Halloween set which I didn't notice until later there was a whole sentiment I couldn't use because they'd misspelled the word "spooky". In the sentiment it was spelled "spookey". Too bad about things like that.

  14. Cringe--that's awful! I find typos in digital paper goods all the time, and it never fails to make me wince. I would have left that set on the shelf, too! A pair of regally beautiful cards, Colleen! So lovely.
