Black Polka Dot Christmas Tree

Hello! This is quite a different kind of Christmas tree:  black, with white polka dots. It's got a modern feel, and I balanced it with lots of white.

Just because there's lots of white space doesn't mean it needs to be flat and boring. I used a snowflake embossing folder, and topped it with punched snowflakes, which are then topped with Marshmallow sequins.

The polka dot paper came from an iPhone case package. Couldn't pass it up, it's so cute. I decorated my tree with sequins of gold, silver, and sparkling clear, then topped it with a shiny gold star using an Itty Bitty Accent punch from Stampin' Up!.

Thanks for coming by today!

Paper: white - Papertrey Ink; shiny gold - WorldWin; polka dot pattern - cell phone packaging Accessories & Tools: Itty Bitty Accents - Stampin' Up!; Christmas Tree die - Papertrey Ink; silver, gold, clear, white sequins - Pretty Pink Posh; matte gold sequins - MJ Trimming; Glacial Snowflake punch - Martha Stewart; Northern Flurry embossing folder - Stampin' Up!

  2. Great save on that paper! It's hard to throw those things away. So pretty with the embossing and delicate snowflakes. You're right, flat doesn't have to be boring.
