An Irish Christening

My niece, who has lots of Irish in her, is being christened this weekend. I wanted to make a card that would reflect that heritage, but still look soft and sweet. Since I have no sentiment stamps appropriate for such an event, I had to be creative. I used a sentiment from Stampin' Up!'s Best Yet, and decorated one layer with shamrocks from SU's Lucky Me.

The white sentiment layer was created by using a scrap square of Whisper White, and punching all four sides with a Martha Stewart Flower border punch. No corner punch needed! Hooray! I propped up the punched flowers with two different-sized dimensionals, to give some interest. Oh, and those little green gems in the flower centers are from my kids' craft bin. I just help myself whenever I need to!

Happy Stamping,
Colleen

Stamps: Best Yet, Lucky Me - both SU
Paper: Glorious Green, Barely Banana, white from Papertrey Ink
Ink: Glorious Green, Basic Black
Punches: Martha Stewart fringe flower, flower border , SU corner rounder
Other: dimensionals, ribbon, SU Texturz Plate, Big Shot, gemstones

  1. I love this, Colleen!! What a wonderful keepsake card for a little Irish gal. Beautiful details!! Love the embossed background. So glad to know that I'm not the only one who raids her kids' craft supplies for card making LOL!!!
