This card looks simple in design, but it took a while because of the bows. I used glue to help construct them and had to rely upon clothespins to hold them for me so I could continue on with the rest of the card.
That worked fairly well, but you have to keep checking on the bows so they don't adhere to the clothespins.
It's hard to photograph a white card base on a white background, so I took pix on a darker one too, so you can see it better.
I used a sentiment from my new, recently-won Mark's Finest Papers set, Seasonal Poinsettias. Have to say I really like that set a bunch. There are many beautiful sentiments in different fonts, and I am a sucker for unique fonts (that might sound kinda weird). And there are, as the name implies, some beautiful poinsettias as well.
I ran a glue pen around the edges of my label, then sprinkled on my favorite, no-name iridescent glitter. The "o" in the word "holidays" was just begging for a ruby rhinestone.
I am entering the card in these challenges:
- Mark's Finest Papers #23 - use buttons and bows
- Stamp Simply #159 - 'Three's the number'
- Pals' Paper Arts #62 - use a button on your creation
Happy Stamping,
Colleen

Adorable card! I love the embossing and the bling!
ReplyDeleteFun bows - even if they were a nuisance to make! Love the sparkle around the sentiment panel and the bling in the "o" of holidays. The white cards stands out much better in the dark background as the edges get defined. Wonderfully done :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative idea Colleen! I think I'll be CASEing it soon.

ReplyDeleteOh, this is fantastic, Colleen!! I'm so glad you got to use your new Seasonal Poinsettias set. That sentiment looks so classy with your layout. And I LOVE how you added bling to "O"--great idea! I've had to wrestle glue-y ribbons into bows with clothespins, too. And you are absolutely right--patience and double-checking to make sure that the pins don't stick are definitely required. Great job with the buttons and bows!! [PS I love fonts, too ;) ]
