Play Date Cafe 88 - Inspired by a Greeting Card

It's back to brights this week at The Play Date Cafe:  red-orange, 'yucky yellow' and juniper are the descriptions given to them by our own Jaclyn Miller.  Love the 'yucky yellow' name!
At first, I thought I'd have a hard time making a card for this week, but then I saw this product in Reader's Digest and was TOTALLY inspired!  I used the lacy medallion from Artistic Etchings by Stampin' Up! and colored it with these markers:  Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry.

Our Guest Designer this week is Debby Hughes, and wait'll you see her fabulous, clean and simple card made for this challenge!

See you soon,
Colleen

Stamps:  Artistic Etchings, Something to Celebrate - SU
Paper:  white by PTI
Ink:  Basic Black
Other:  SU markers - Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry

  7. Colleen, you find the BEST inspiration! You really know how to capture things that catch your eye. I love how you incorporated the design of that pretty note card yet made it all your own, too. Great use of the colors (including the "yucky yellow"--ha, ha!!) A perfectly CAS birthday card. Lovely!

  10. I immediately thought of 2 things; elegance and CAS. Its great to see that a CAS card also turns out elegant'. That stamp is beautiful.

I hope to play along this week; I missed last weeks'challenge due to a full schedule and a lot to worry about with my FIL in the hospital. I planned a lot of time for making cards this weekend :)
    Hugs!

  13. Love how you incorporated the circles as well as all the colors in this CAS card! Funny about the yucky yellow! When I saw the inspiration photo I was thinking Crushed Curry right away, and then I see that's what you used. Sometimes it looks yucky, and sometimes it's just right. Funny color.
