A Bluebird for My Father-In-Law

Today is my father-in-law's birthday.  He loves birds, and enjoys watching them from the deck on his house.
I made a card featuring a bluebird for his special day.


The bird and branch are from Touch of Nature by Stampin' Up!.


I used a Hero Arts script in the background, on the gray card base.  I used light pressure in some areas on the script stamp, and some heavy, to give a worn look.


The ticket is a free digital download, and do you think I could remember where I got it from ?  No.  I have a terrible memory, and it's only getting worse!  LOL  I stamped a sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers Flourishes and Frame on the ticket.

    Be still my heart!! I am a bird watcher, too..used to be before card making came along. My favorite bird is the Eastern Bluebird. I love how you did the background..it's an outstanding card!!!!

    So elegant, but perfectly masculine! I love to watch blue birds as well! Beautiful background! Just perfect! We have a new bird-feeder for our new house and it's a squirrel buster, so it keeps all the other critters out. We love it!

    Gorgeous coloring on the bird, Colleen! I love that soft background of little branches on the image piece and the border punching. Incredible!

    This is just beautiful, Colleen! I love the border punch you chose to go with this gorgeous scene, and that ticket makes a lovely frame for the sentiment. Your worn background looks fabulous for this pretty card! I think your father-in-law is a very lucky man to be receiving such a thoughtful and wonderful card. :)

    Wonderful card! My parents loved watching the birds and squirrels from their family room. He even had a horse come running down the backyard he thought. He didn't have his glasses on and just saw something huge run past the house. It was actually a deer. No, they do not live in the country either! Dad would have loved to have had a card like this. Love how you colored the bird and whole thing! Great job as usual!
