Modern Baby

Hello everyone!  Remember my recent post about pinning one's own cards to Pinterest?  I really appreciated hearing what you all have to say about that.  I am a firm believer in pinning my creations to my boards over there.  Quite a bit of traffic to my blog comes from there.  :-)

I do love pinning what others have created as well.  These pins are a wellspring of ideas for me.  Today's card was inspired by THIS card found on Pinterest.  I tried to follow the links and see who the creator is, but it links back to Clear & Simple Stamping's general blog and I could not find the card.

This fun arrangement of different-size circles can be adapted to so many occasions, but I chose to make it a baby card with a Paper Smooches sentiment.

I'm a stickler for details (not always, but often) and when I photographed this card, I noticed a slight mar at the top of the card base.  Grrr!  Since this card is heading for the store to be sold (I hope), I wanted it to be perfect.  So after the photo was taken, I lifted off the blue section and mounted it to a clean white base.  Don't you hate when those mistakes happen?

The punch sizes used are listed below my signature.  I used some Brocade Blue patterned paper and cardstock from Stampin' Up!  I have several of the Print Pack paper stacks and they just languish beneath my other 6" x 6" pads.  So glad to have a fun way to use these!

I'm entering this at CAS-ual Fridays, where the theme is Love Song:  choose a song you love and make a CAS card based on it.  I adore the Christmas song, "Baby, It's Cold Outside", sung by many different partners over the years.  A fave version of mine is Dean Martin and Martina McBride.

For those of you who asked how we weathered this recent big snowstorm to hit the Northeast, my own area got barely anything.  Darn!  I want one big rock'em, sock'em snowstorm before the season ends.  ;-)

  3. Hi Colleen. Your designs are so fresh and new. Love this modern take on a baby card. And a wonderful way to use designer papers (mine tend to sit around and collect dust for the most part). Noticed your reference to the pinning issue so checked out your original post. Love your take on the issue. I haven't pinned any of mine own, but you've given me a new perspective and I plan on setting up a board. Thanks. Loll xx

  8. Ooh, what a super card. I love all the circle and the wonderful papers.

A smudge! Yes, I'm like you and can't stand that. I've finished cards before and had to do them over because of the tiniest speck. As you know, even tiny is huge after photographing.

  9. I am going to start off by saying I love ya before I say the next thing..."COL, you're just not right" Who in their right mind wants a snowstorm like that? My SIL has been without power since Sat and lives in a house that was built early 1800's. Yep New England...which means the insulation....not so great!

You're card on the other hand is fabulous! Way to use up some of those PP waiting for some love!

  21. What a pretty card. I just love the design. I had to smile when you said that you noticed a flaw once you took the photo. That happens to me all the time. I have such bad eyes most of the time I can't even see the flaw till I take the photo.

  25. This is so pretty Colleen. I just love the pretty designer paper. The mix makes this card so attractive. On the subject of pinterest, I love when people have a board with their cards and paper creations. I love to look through it to see their style.
