The Sympathy Blues

This is one of two posts today.  Please click HERE for 'Bits and Pieces:  A Baby Card for Jinny.'

Hello everyone!  For those of you who follow me, you know that I am continually making things to stock my card basket at the local art gallery.  These sympathy cards are heading there.  Both versions are similar, with just minor differences on each:

A 'Colleen Bow' here on one of the cards...

I used Everyday Sayings / Hero Arts for both versions, beautiful K & Co. die cuts, and some gorgeous snippets of retired Stampin' Up! papers.

I really like certain colors for sympathy cards.  Blues and greens are good ones, I think.  They are cool and serene.  What colors do you tend to use for these cards?

Stamps: Everyday Sayings - Hero Arts Paper: Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, damasks, stripe - SU Ink: Versafine Onyx Black - Tsukineko Fibers: white seam binding - Hug Snug Accessories & Tools: doilies - Wilton; White Opal Liquid Pearls - Ranger; floral die cuts - K & Co.

  3. Two beautiful designs with those amazing die cuts and pretty papers (which I still have quite a lot of and love it). I like anything soft and soothing for a sympathy card and do also tend to use a lot of blues and greens.

  9. I agree that pastel and soothing colors are the best for sympathy cards. Yours are always well done and appropriate. Quite frankly, I have often seen sympathy cards that I did not feel were appropriate at all.

  19. Sympathy Flowers & Gifts. During a time when words won't suffice, a simple bouquet of sympathy flowers can lift a loved one's spirits a happy customer who ordered a flower delivery in Fiona Stanley Hospital.
