Crabby Birthday

Boy, I have been a stamping fiend these past few days!  When my mom was visiting, it was hard to find the time, but I have allowed myself free reign to stamp-stamp-stamp this week!

Tomorrow I am going to the beach with my girls, so there won't be time for crafting.

I've never played in the Color Throwdown Challenges before, so this is my first time.  Well, for that matter, I have never entered the other two sites' challenges before either!

The Color Throwdown Challenge #102 color palette:
I do not own Marina Mist yet, so I subbed a paper from Die Cuts With A View.
Since this is a birthday card, it fits into two other challenges as well.
The inside of the card.

My 'crabby' card started out as a completely different card, in my mind.  I mean, there's no resemblance whatsoever to what I had pictured.  Ah well.  Sometimes the card takes you for a ride, instead of the other way around.  I still had fun, anyway!

Happy Stamping,
Colleen

  3. Your third post for the day?? Wow!! Way to go, Colleen :) This card is just adorable. I spy with my little eye one of your new border punches on this card! I love how you used it to make waves on the beach. Great use of those CTD colors, too. Hey, we're the crab twins this week!! :)

  8. Hi Colleen! Thanks for stopping by my blogs (I did reply to your comments but I'm not sure if you get notification of that or not).

I love what you've done here! Have you ever tried putting -actual- sand on a card? I've seen people glue it down but I've also seen it put in a baggie and showcased through a window/cutout. Your sand looks great.

Kerowyn loved the crab but then started going on about "Grandma's beach" (we're going to visit her soon and she lives on a lake). I'll take that to mean she liked the card too!

    Thank you for sharing!
