Mixed Media Butterflies

Hello! This week at Topflight Stamps we are focusing on Mixed Media. For my card, I lightly spritzed water on a piece of watercolor paper. Then on a silicone mat, I smushed some Lavinia Graphite Dye Ink and also spritzed it lightly with water. I placed the watercolor paper onto the ink and picked it up, dabbed it in a different place, lifted it, etc. Once dry, I laid the Lavinia Laurel stencil over it and added grit paste. When that dried, I used my fingertip to smooth on some gold paste. On some white cardstock, I stamped a butterfly twice from the AALL & Create Delicate Wings set, fussy cut and layered on to the base. It looked a little bare at that point, so I opened the Creative Expressions French Fabric Tags stamp set and stamped two little tags. After sponging both of them with a light brown ink, they were added as a layer in front of the butterflies. Finally, a few purple punched flowers dotted with Hunkydory Pearls topped it off.

Victorian Garden Work

Happy Thursday! I am here with you to share another garden-related card for Topflight Stamps "Anything Goes" week. I chose a gorgeous vintage inspired stamp set from Creative Expressions called Chateau Garden. Oh my. So many pretty stamps in one set, including some sentiments. On a pale gray card base, I used a couple of paper snippets from Creative Expressions Nature's Compendium paper pad. On one squarish piece that has text on it, I stamped the elaborate draping frame and then stamped the word "rose" in the center of it, using my favorite dark black ink from Versafine - Onyx Black. I also stamped the butterfly / flower cluster from the same set, and trimmed out just the butterfly. After a few light touches of marker, I added it to the frame and popped it up with dimensionals. The "No. 15" ephemera on the bottom left came from the Nature's Compendium paper pad too.

Pure Poppy

Hello, happy Monday! It's Colleen here with you to share a card for our Topflight Stamps "Anything Goes" week. I chose a beautiful poppy stamp from Crafty Individuals called Pretty Poppy. I stamped it on a scrap piece of white cardstock and colored the frame and flower with alcohol markers. Though it's hard to see in the photo, I added some glossy glue to the center of the flower to make it raised and shiny. And, since I breathe more deeply when I look at flowers, I thought it would be appropriate to use a "breathe" sentiment from PaperArtsy Scrapcosy 41 stamp set. There are many words in that set, and you can come up with so many combos/phrases. I stamped the word and used a small 'ticket' punch I had to create the perfect accompaniment to a beautiful poppy. Shamrock Teapot

Good morning! Just wanted to share a simple card I made for my sister, who has been going through some very difficult times. This is a "thinking of you" card. The teapot die I used is from Temu, and it's so pretty and full of detail. It came with some fancy teacups too, so I can use them on another card. The shamrock paper is from a friend, and the little white blossoms are from my all-time favorite Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch, plus the Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty punch trio. I kept the card flat for a one-stamp envelope. Oh, the tiny shamrock die cut is from Memory Box Lucky Charms. I added a small dollop of white Nuvo Drops in the center for some dimension. The largest blossom has a white semi-glossy round sticker centered on top.

Springtime Bird Nest

Hi! This week at Topflight Stamps, we're creating with Spring or Mother's Day in mind. I happen to have both! The front of my card doesn't say "Mom", but can certainly be used for Mother's Day. With a page from the Creative Expressions Nature's Compendium paper pad, I created a base layer for my card. On another piece of paper from the same pad, I stamped Crafty Individuals Love Is All Around Bird Nest with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, then trimmed it out and mounted on the base panel. On vanilla and white cardstocks, I stamped an assortment of tiny things: blossoms and a tiny butterfly from Hobby Art Hydrangea, and little tickets and a "for you" circle from Crafty Individuals Vintage Tickets & Ephemera. Each piece was fussy cut, edges inked for a vintage look, and assembled in a cluster around a flower I had in my stash. The little butterfly was mounted on the "for you" circle. For the hydrangea blossoms, each one was topped with a Hunkydory Diamond Sparkles Gemstone (a silver ball).

Lavender Birthday

Hello! It's Thursday, so it's my turn to share during our "Anything Goes" week at Topflight Stamps. I used a page from Creative Expressions Nature's Compendium paper pad as my inspiration for a lavender card. On a panel of lavender paper, I inked the edges and stamped some cute blackberries from the Lavinia Blackberry clear stamp. I stamped extra blackberry images on a scrap of white cardstock, and fussy cut them. Then, I die-cut a light plum rectangle using a Crealies Stitched Rectangle die, and mounted it on top of the lavender / blackberry background. On a white piece of cardstock, die-cut with a circle, I stamped a birthday sentiment from the very versatile Hobby Art Stamps Hydrangea stamp set. Also from the same set, I stamped little hydrangea blossoms and leaves, then fussy cut those. It was fun to create little clusters of blossoms, berries and leaves on two corners of the sentiment circle. Each blossom got a little dot of glitter glue, too.

Reindeer Head Birthday

Hello! It's Colleen with you again during the Topflight Stamps Celebration Week! I've got a masculine birthday card to share.

I started with this realistic brick background paper from Craft Consortium Brick Textures pad, and pulled colors from it for the rest of the card. This paper pad has a lot of different brick textures, in all kinds of colors, so versatile. This cute Dixi Craft Reindeer Head die became the focal point of the card. I die cut multiples and stacked several on top of one another, to give dimension. The sentiment is from Visible Image Go To Words, a staple in my stamp stash. After stamping it, I fussy-cut and lightly inked the edges with light brown. The final touch was some burlap ribbon trim I had on hand.

For my birthday card, I started with a plaid piece of patterned paper. Using Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves ink and PaperArtsy Scrapcosy PS317 stencil, I added a regal design at the top and bottom of the paper. On cream colored cardstock, I stamped the following in Versafine Onyx Black ink and then trimmed them out and sponged edges with brown ink: Crafty Individuals Seven Cheeky Songbirds and Crafty Individuals Vintage Tickets & Ephemera. The Crafter's Companion 'Loving Thoughts' sentiment was stamped on a round die cut, with edges inked in a vintage brown. All of the elements were layered on top of two pieces of vintage lace, nestled between both of the stenciled borders. Thanks for joining me! Best of luck on the hop!
