TV Interviews

I began donating to Operation Write Home in 2010 when I saw my card pile mounting from several years' worth of crafting.  I stumbled upon the non-profit organization by visiting someone's blog.  It had never occurred to me that our service men and women would not have access to greeting cards to send to loved ones.  OWH ensures that beautiful cards made by crafters like you and me make it to different regions of the world where troops are stationed.  For me, it's a lovely way to say "thank you" to the people who help protect our freedom.

NBC Reporter Doug Shimell, me and my daughter, Haley in my craft area.

OWH president and founder Sandy Allnock contacted me in early 2011.  She said that a couple of Philadelphia-area television affiliates were interested in airing segments about OWH and wanted actual people who were involved locally.  I was one of the few in this area, and I agreed to be interviewed.

I was interviewed on June 28, 2011 by a Philadelphia-area NBC TV reporter, Doug Shimell.

I was also interviewed by our local CBS affiliate.  It aired July 5, 2011 and you can view it HERE or here:

If you'd like to donate your handmade cards, it's very easy!  Just go to Operation Write Home for more details.   It would make someone's day.  Thank you for supporting our troops!
