Thinking "natural" this week, over at Mark's Finest Papers, where our challenge is to use TWINE OR JUTE BUT NO RIBBON.
I picked out some raffia that I've nabbed off a package somewhere along the way.
If you know my style, you have noticed that I RARELY do skewed panels. This time 'round, it just felt 'natural' to skew that K & Co. patterned paper. It came from the K & Co. 'Flora and Fauna Ledger' tablet. I stamped a greeting from Mark's Finest Papers' Sand-Surf-Relax, and distressed the edges with ink and a fingernail.
Sorry for the changes in photograph colors. The main photo at the top of this post most accurately reflects the real-life colors.
Stamps: Sand-Surf-Relax - MFP
Paper: kraft, ivory, Old Olive patterned paper - SU; ledger paper with fern - K & Co.
Ink: Stazon Timber Brown; Scattered Straw, Tea Dye, Tattered Rose, Old Paper, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen - Ranger Distress Inks
Other: Big Shot; Victoria embossing folder - Cuttlebug; sponge; pearls - Queen & Co.; raffia; dimensionals

Colleen, this IS a very pleasant and relaxing card. I love the little tool you carry with you for distressing. :) Speedy the Cat wins again with this great layout.

Great use of the raffia. I rarely tilt panels-yours looks natural-mine never do. Pretty card with the shells.
Wow! Colleen, I love how you did the emboss over the two BG's and the shell is wonderful too! Very pretty!

It is all in the details and you nailed it with the details! I just really love this! Everything works from the colors to the pearls to the raffia. I love the paper you used and tilted it and curled the ends. Great job kiddo!

So pretty Colleen! Love the embossing! I love skewed panels so this is perfect to me! I always laugh because I am a very symmetrical person, but for some reason I love skewed panels, when it seems to annoy everyone else!
Wow this is gorgeous. I lvoe the "natural" look, the "layers" and the embossed background!
Hugs!
I love that skewed panel and the sentiment is perfect for that paper! Love the 2 kinds of card/paper all embossed too. Could this have been inspired by your vacation?
Shells wouldn't normally be my thing, but I just love the natural feeling of your card, the raffia is great with it and I love how you've done the embossing over the panel, lovely card!
The raffia was perfect for this wonderful note of thanks. Love that seashell...and the way you distressed the notepaper.
Ooo, I just love the natural look of this card, Colleen. That seashell is one of my favorites! I'm looking forward to seeing all the rest of the eye candy of yours that I missed while being away!!
