This is a super simple card I have for you today. The coloring took the most time, and it was a pure pleasure to do.
I am CASEing a morning glories card I found somewhere on the Web and saved to my computer. The photo of the card didn't have a watermark :-(, so I don't know who made it.
I used a butterfly from an older Stampin' Up! set called Touch of Nature. I LOVE so many of SU's older stamps. I haven't even used all of them yet. It bums me out that I can't use them when I make cards for magazine submissions. They usually want current products, and although I have some things that are current, my heart lingers over older supplies/stamps that I hold dear.
At least Paper Players won't mind if my challenge submission uses an older stamp! They want to see birthday cards this week.
Before I go, I want to show you a project I worked on this summer. I made porch curtains out of all-weather fabric from Waverly.
It was an easy project and I am so happy with the outcome. I used a pole from Plow and Hearth, meant for outdoor use. The fabric was on deep discount at JoAnn Fabrics when I bought it. I was lucky to find the same material that had been used to make the porch cushions a couple of summers ago. A friend made and covered them for me, using foam made for boat cushions. The wicker furniture belonged to my grandparents, and they purchased it used from a convent many years before. I don't know how old it is, but I cherish it so much. Not only is it beautiful, but it was part of the scene as I grew up. The set had been painted bright orange, then mustard gold, then pea green, and then white in my youth. I think I prefer the classic white, thank you. ;)
I'll be back in the wee hours of tomorrow morning with a new Play Date Cafe card. See you then!

Great card Colleen, love the cool crisp colors! And those curtains...wow...you rocked those! Love the story behind the wicker furniture :)
WHAT no pea green for you? :)
BEAUTIFUL CAS CARD my friend -- just so........stunning!
Great job on your curtain - your porch looks so inviting --
I love this butterfly. This is one of my all time favorite sets too. I just don't get to use it enough. I love how you painted the butterfly and the CAS card.
I think part of the reason why I have not taken the time to even try to submit is the supply list and the caution in what you create with. I love using older items and scraps as well! This is beautiful as always! CAS at it's best! :-)
Hi Colleen
Gorgeous card and I really agree colouring in something - well there is something so lovely, relaxing and you feel almost childlike when you do (well I do anyway) and just love it!!!
Your handmade curtains and gorgeous love that fabric and the matching cushions too what a lovely porch and no wonder you love the furniture its so very lovely.
Lastly I watched the video clip of you on the CBS - now aren't you just lovely (well I knew that anyway - LOL) but honestly its such a lovely video clip of you, you came across so very well, and what a wonderful cause to make the cards for too.
Big hugs from across the pond!

Colleen, now I KNOW I am coming to visit, just to sit on that lovely porch. No, you come visit me and make me something for MY porch! LOL! Your card is lovely; I feel the same about my old stamps too. I don't know why SU can't retire them from the catty but still have them in the "attic" to sell! I like that it was a pleasure for you to color, too! Thanks for playing with the Paper Players this week!!!
