Whoo Hoo Wednesday - NOEL Candles

I am so excited to share my project for Whoo Hoo Wednesday, a weekly feature over at Inspired By Stamping.  I made dainty little decorations for plain votive candle holders, and can't wait to set these out for Christmas!

To make a set of these, you will need:

  • Four votive holders and candles
  • Small die from Persian Motifs set by Spellbinders
  • White Opal and Ruby Red Liquid Pearls by Ranger
  • Going Gray, Basic Gray and Garden Green dye inks by Stampin' Up!
  • Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink by Tsukineko
  • Antique Linen dye ink by Ranger
  • Foam dimensional stickers
  • White cardstock
  • and the following stamps by Inspired By Stamping

Fancy Alphabet
Mason Jar Add-On II
December 25th Labels
Delicate Doilies II

To make the band that fits around the candle holder, stamp the lace border end-to-end in light gray and trim.

Using a strong adhesive, place a bit on one end of the strip and wrap around candle holder to secure.  Add a  foam dimensional sticker.

Stamp the label four times in dark gray ink; trim.  Stamp N, O, E and L within each frame, using black ink.  Stamp holly clusters four times and trim.

Lightly ink the edges of each holly cluster and frame with linen ink.  Adhere holly cluster to frame with foam dimensional sticker.  Use Liquid Pearls in red to create the berries, and in white to decorate the flourishes in the frame.

Die-cut four 'snowflakes' and add foam stickers to center; attach an alphabet frame to each.

Attach snowflake to the foam sticker that was added earlier to the lace border around candle holder.

If you plan to light your votives once they are decorated, please make sure to practice candle safety.  :-)  The National Candle Association has a list of ways to keep safe when burning candles.

Thanks for your visit today!

Whoo Hoo! Those are really pretty decorations for the votive candle holders. This really puts me in a Christmas mood.
I have bought a couple gifts, put up the tree and that's it.
Still waiting for my new cabinets. They are a month late but looks like about two weeks now. Getting scary because the holidays are coming fast and I want that finished.

This gorgeous set made me think of the tin you sent me last year; it's still here in front of me on my desk. The mix of candles, glass, white and gorgeous labels made me sigh...stunning!

Hi Colleen, sorry I haven't visited for a while. I was trying to limit the time I spent commenting in order to spend more time making things but clearly it backfired because I've missed lots of lovely work here and on other blogs. I've been getting round seeing people and then got your comment so I made you next on the list. Please accept my apologies.
I love what you've done with these little votive candle holders and we get the instructions too with wonderful photos (of course!). I looked through lots of the posts I've missed and without a doubt my most favourite is the 'Peace On Earth' snowflake card - I love that beautiful clean look but it's not something I've tried and I can't resist getting ink everywhere! The other card I like is the Fleur de Lys anniversary card. I did a month at Make My Monday as a guest (another reason why I've been so busy) and France was the theme all month, with fleur de lys being one sub theme. I love what you've done with the card and wish I'd had one of those gorgeous chip board fleur de lys back then! I'd had enough of France when SSSS had this theme so didn't enter!
I do hope you are much better now and enjoying life more.
I promise not to be a stranger!
Kindest wishes,
Juliaxxx
