A Bitty Giraffe for Baby

One of the card categories I need to beef up is Baby.  And more specifically, Baby Boy.  I can crank out Baby Girl cards like nobody's business, but the boy cards are a little less...well....fun.  Sure, they can be very cute, but one can't add all the girly touches (lace, pearls, bows, etc.) that come more naturally to me.

So, here is one of my attempts at a masculine baby card:

I used the sweetest little giraffe from an old Stampin' Up! set, Little Hellos.  The stamp does feature a little bow around his neck, and then I added a real bow made of vintage twine.

Thanks so much for your visit today.  I really appreciate it!

Stamps: Little Hellos - SU Paper: white - PTI; Close to Cocoa, patterns - SU Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black - Tsukineko; Antique Linen - Ranger Fibers: chocolate twine - American Crafts; natural twine - Creative Impressions; vintage thread Accessories & Tools: Romantic Rectangles die - Spellbinders; Copic markers

This is adorable! And I so totally get what you mean about the baby boy vs baby girl cards....the boy cards just seem like mini versions of the Dreaded Man Card. lol

Super cute boy card. Love that image and your paper choices and twine really add interest. I agree that boy baby cards are harder! Hugz!!!

Very cute, Colleen. I agree, boy cards at any age aren't as much fun to make.

Oh, I think this one is darling, Colleen! Love that you used an old, but very cute set. The clean layout is great, as are the colors. Baby cards of any kind are among my favorites!

That giraffe is so stinkin'cute!!! I love that bow around his neck; so smart to add it. It is giving a little extra. Perfect for a bay boy card. I know what you mean about baby girl cards; I can make them in very little time but a boy; that's a different story:) But this baby boy card is gorgeous!XX

The Giraffe is very whimsical, perfect to use on a boy baby card. Your design is quite beautiful. I've had to create a baby boy card this week and I ended up doing some embroidery on paper as I don't have any 'baby' stamps. (I started making cards with paper folding and stitching on paper, stamping wasn't on the radar for a few years). Take care, Shirleyx
