Hope you all had a Happy Easter! We had glorious weather here in NJ. Temps were in the 70s, with plenty of sunshine. Great for an egg hunt!
Just sharing a couple of birthday cards that were made in February:
Don't these colors remind you of sunny days? They are so cheerful! I took full advantage of some beautiful (retired) papers from Stampin' Up!, and added a birdcage from the set, Happy Moments. After stamping, I sponged on yellow and rose inks to create a glow.
Also on both cards, I stamped a flourish from Verve's Blessings near the bird cages and further down to fill 'empty' areas.
My family and I saw The Phantom Of The Opera at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia recently. It was the first time for all of us. It was a neat experience. To avoid high costs, we bought tickets in the 'nosebleed' section. Now, I have a bit of a fear of heights in certain circumstances. The top section, right near the ceiling as you can see here, is VERY steep. I admit to having a small panic attack there!
I brought a small pair of child's binoculars that fit in my purse, and they were a great help. The show was terrific, and the music so beautiful. Our kids didn't really like it much, but we're trying to give them different experiences. Our youngest, 12 years old, tried to fall asleep during the performance, but there are gunshots and explosions that happen during the show, so sleeping just wasn't happening. ;-)
We weren't allowed to take pictures during the show, but my phone's camera wouldn't have done justice anyway.
Thanks for coming by today!

What a bright n colorful card..filled with happiness :).
Beautiful cards, love the bright colors! And the Academy of Music looks very impressive!!! These old buildings, dedicated to music, are just gorgeous. New concert halls and stadiums just, well, pale in comparison.
Loving the cards!! Beautiful colors and loving the birdcages! And how fun you got to go see the show! I am deathly afraid of heights .. so I hear you on the nose bleed section! LOL!!!
Beautiful cards, Colleen. I love the little birdcage and your sponging. Of course, your ribbons/bows are always lovely.
Glad you shared the photos. I can understand the panic attacks. Yeow!
So bright, sunshiny and colorful, Colleen! How fun that you went to Phantom of the Opera! My parents took us to see it years ago--it's quite a show! Sorry about your panic attack, though. That's no fun!
Your cards are so pretty, Colleen! LOVE the colors and the paper is just darling! I could have sworn those flourishes were part of the paper. Nice to have that matching ink. I probably would have had a small panic attack where you were sitting, too. I don't mind heights if I have a solid barrier at least waist high between me and the thin air, but a rail or something like a glass elevator gives me that panic feeling.
We had gorgeous weather too, wasn't it the best!! Beautiful cards Coleen, love the colors. I think a panic attack would have set in for me too, WOW!!!
Such fun card Colleen!! I love the rays in the background with the blossons,WOW!
beautiful card Colleen! love that paper. what a beautiful place to see a play too...I'd panic a small bit too =)
The colors radiate warmth! A really beautiful card and bow with that cute butterfly button! Lucky you on your Phantom visit!!
I love these colors! What a pretty card! We saw Phantom in Raleigh several years ago and loved it. My favorite was Les Miserables! We had nosebleed seats and used some field glasses. The music and play were awesome!
Love those bright cards with pretty flowers! How fun to see the Phantom! My husband and I saw it in Toronto many years ago. How fun...glad you had a great time!
I love the pink and yellows in the card! I've seen the Phantom twice in London. It's awesome, I know you loved it. Up high is better than down low, my travel agent got me seats in the orchestra the first time and I had that huge chandelier dropping down about 2 feet from my head!!!! Needless to say I moved up the second time I went! LOL!
