Hello there! Are you enjoying summer, as it's officially here? My kids are finished with school (whew!) and I know they're sooooo glad. They are planning many dips in the pool, and sleeping in as late as they can! Ahhh, to be that young again.
Well, after all the masculine cards I've been sharing as of late, I've got something quite feminine to share today.
I started out with the dotted piece of retired Stampin' Up! paper, and built the color scheme from there. The fancy cake is from Hampton Arts' Wedding set, and I added some 'frosting' (pink liquid pearls). That was fun. That's about the closest I'll get to decorating a cake. =)
I did use lots of scraps on this card - yay! -- even the ribbon was a scrap.
Thanks for coming by today, everyone!

A beautiful card with sweet birthday cake! Great touch with the liquid pearls, doily, and ribbon!
Very sweet card. Glad to read you weren't hurt in your accident -- scary stuff.
Very pretty and feminine, Colleen. I don't decorate cakes, either. Haven't bake a cake in years.
Enjoy the summer with your girls. I would be enjoying summer if not for all the rain...every day, it seems, a thunderstorm hits. Ugh!
What a pretty cake! Love your liquid pearls "icing".
Well, this is so pretty and soft! You know I love the doily.
Yes, we are starting our summer fun here too. I wish I could get mine to sleep in though. Just a little. Ugh.
You + me both on the cake decorating! lol! I much prefer playing with the paper kind :) I love the layered doilies & those perfect two pearls! And YAY SUMMER! Mine aren't much for sleeping in (6 AM) but at least I don't have to make lunches - that itself is worth celebrating :)
