Ice Skates for Christmas

Close to our house, there is a really nice ice skating rink that the parks department sets up in winter and runs through late February. You can buy hot cocoa and other delectable warm treats while you are there. It's been decades since I put on a pair of ice skates, and I think I'll leave it that way. ;-)
I like my feet on solid ground!

This is as close to putting on a pair of ice skates as I'll get:  the stamped version, on paper.

I used some already-stamped pieces that I found in a Stampin' Up! bag of scraps, which my demonstrator has from time to time. (love those!) I used bits and pieces of die cuts, punches, ribbons and trim to round out each design.

Thanks so much for coming by here today!  God bless you!

Oh so pretty....and I left my ice skates in my house when I moved in 1983 and haven't put another pair on either...I'm with you! I'll just stamp mine! I have this set and haven't used it forever, I might have to dust it off! Hope you are well! :D

What a beautiful pair of cards Colleen! The skates are wonderful and I like the designs with the large banners and touches of sparkle. I remember being about 10 and learning to skate on a small pond/creek behind my cousins house. Oh my gosh, the bruises on my knees LOL!

These skates and your other parts make the cutest Christmas cards! Love how the second pair is all sparkled up.

Lovely cards, Colleen! As I seem to recall you had a bit of foot surgery a few years back, didn't you? So leaving the skates to paper only is probably a good idea. I daresay, I think the same. Foot surgery or not, I've no desire to be intentionally sliding around on ice. Take care and hope the new year is going well for you and yours!

These scream winter and are lovely. Best skating memory I have is skating on a huge pond/lake in Holland the year I worked there. Hope all is well with you. Big cyber ((hugs))!!
