Le Petit Dahlia

Hello!  This week at Topflight Stamps we are using washi tape on our creations.  I had fun with some AALL & Create Blooming Splodge #74 - gorgeous pink flowers on this one.  I laid down a strip of the washi tape on scrap cardstock and glued it down so it has no chance of peeling up.  Then I used a flower punch from my stash and punched out a couple to use on my card.  Moving on to the card base, I positioned the PaperArtsy "Le Petit Dahlia" stencil over my card and brushed on Lavinia Truffle Dye Ink where the words appear near top and bottom.  I used a pink ink from my stash for the dahlia itself, and this Lavinia Pink Elephant ink pad is a really good match for it.  Then I cleaned the stencil, and took out some stenciling paste to highlight the word "PARIS" from it.  Back to the washi tape, I used a piece of it to decorate the very bottom of the card front, added my punched flowers, and the final touch:  pearls!  Hunkydory Diamond Sparkles Precious Pearls are my favorite way to add some bling to cards!  I used them on the washi tape punched flowers as well as surrounding the word "PARIS".

Eggnog

I've got another card to add to the Christmas stash for this coming holiday!  Traditional red and green for this one, based on the inspiration piece in the center.  This eggnog piece of ephemera is adorable, given to me by a friend.  I added a bit of clear glitter around the circle.  This was mounted on a piece of red cardstock embossed with Tim Holtz / Sizzix "Tapestry" embossing folder, and some red and white (peppermint!) twine and a red K & Co. poinsettia sticker are the only other additions.

Thanks for coming by!
Have a blessed day!

Buttery Best Wishes

I made an anniversary card to have on hand and used some golden yellow pearly cardstock to create two hearts.  The fabric piece is from my wedding gown, believe it or not.  When I bought my dress many years ago, my seamstress friend was making some alterations on it and she had one of these pieces left over.  I hung onto it in my sewing box for.... 31 years.  LOL  Finally was time to put it to use somehow.  The sentiment is by American Crafts - Hip Stamp Hooray - "Occasions".  The background paper is digital, from an Etsy shop called Carol Kutz Designs.  I have quite a few of her color collections.

Be Mine

Here's a Valentine for next year, something pink and frilly, complete with feathery trim!  The trim comes from Webster's Pages, and has some shimmer to it.  The darker pink heart die cuts are from My Creative Time "Prim Hearts".  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink "Daily Designs Sentiments."

Have a blessed day!

Christmas Holly

Hello!  We've got "Anything Goes" this week at Topflight Stamps, and I'm sharing a Christmas card to put away for later this year!  I started with a pretty marble-ish piece of paper from Craft Consortium Ink Drops Ocean Paper pad, because it reminds me of a frozen pond.  I splattered it with Lavinia Snow White Chalk Paint and set aside to dry.  With a Crealies Rectangle die, I cut a piece of white paper and stamped a sentiment from Creative Expressions "Tis The Season" stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne Black ink.  I dragged the edges of the rectangle with WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying embossing ink pad, then sprinkled on WOW! Pure Platinum embossing powder and hit it with a heat tool.  I also used some of the platinum embossing powder in random spots on the sentiment panel, and used the heat tool from underneath the paper so it wouldn't blow around.  On a scrap piece of cardstock, I stamped two holly clusters from Visible Image "Christmas Robin" with Memento Tuxedo ink.  Then I colored, fussy cut, and glued them to the sentiment panel.

Pansy and Lace

This birthday card couldn't be simpler to make.  The lacy doily paper does a lot of the work.  The puffy pansy sticker is a single focal point, with a subtle peach lace strip underneath.  That is a vintage piece from my 101 year old aunt's sewing room, after she passed away I received a bag full of laces she had.  Thank you, Aunt Florence!  The little sentiment tag is lavender, to coordinate with the hint of lavender in the pansy.

Make the most of this day!
God bless you!

Single Sparkly Tree

Another Christmas card to share:  this went to my mom this past Christmas.  She likes a modern aesthetic, so I think this comes clos.  The background of the olive green card base was embossed with Sizzix "Winter Foliage" 3D embossing folder.  Love the detail of it.  The green glitter tree was a gift tag on one of our gifts years ago, topped with a gold glitter punched star.  The iridescent white glitter "snow" is a diecut using Papertrey Ink "In The Meadow" die set.

Have a WONDERFUL day, and make the most of it!

Vintage Christmas Home

Love making Christmas cards all year round so I have enough when the next holiday comes around!  This traditionally-colored card was pretty simple, thanks to the focal point:  a die cut from a friend of a vintage house in the country during winter.  I topped it with a sentiment and matching punch from Stampin' Up! "Winter Post".  I used red Liquid Pearls on the sentiment's berries, plus on the berries of the vintage scene.  The red cardstock backdrop was embossed with Tim Holtz "Tapestry" embossing folder.

Hope you have a blessed day!

Autumn Leaves Birthday

I have an autumnal birthday card to share today.  The chocolate cardstock was run through a Big Shot with the Tim Holtz "Acorns" Embossing Folder.  Then I used Simon Hurley Lunar Paste in Gold Rush with my finger to shine up the raised areas of the leaves and acorns.  So pretty in real life.  The paper leaves were made with both coffee filters and sleeves from Starbucks coffee cups, with the Tim Holtz Bigz die "Tattered Leaves."  I used various Distress Sprays to get some color onto two of the leaves.  The final, simple touch is a sentiment from Papertrey Ink "Birthday Basics" and a twine bow.

Hope your day is wonderful!

Butterfly Birthday

Hello!  I made a birthday card featuring a butterfly collage-type stamp atop a scalloped tag die cut (die set from Temu).  There's a strip of faux vintage tickets used as a border under the butterfly, but it's not too noticeable because I loaded it up with punched flowers in Night of Navy (Stampin' Up!).  I used Nuvo Drops in a gold color in the center of each flower.  The sentiment tag:  Papertrey Ink's "Tiny Tags" die and stamp set.

Painted Woodware Violas

Hello!  This week at Topflight Stamps, our theme is the company Woodware.  I chose to use their Viola stamp set, one of my faves!   On a piece of recycled store-bought greeting card, cut to fit my card base, I painted a background that would nicely highlight the Violas.  I used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Koala paint to cover the evidence LOL and made a fresh, clean place to stamp the Viola.  Once that was dry, I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Pixie Dust Spray randomly on the panel.  And once that was dry, then stamped Viola in VersaFine Onyx Black ink on top.  On a separate piece of paper, I painted PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Wisteria and let it dry, then stamped Viola there too so I could trim and paper-piece onto my card.  I added a butterfly from AALL & Create Delicate Wings (fussy-cut and layered on), some gems from my stash, and inked the edges of the panel with Lavinia Graphite Dye Ink.

Thanks for joining me today! God bless you!

Neighborhood Homes

I try to keep a stash of New Home cards ready for delivery to the shop when they need more (Arts Plus Gallery in Collingswood), and this was a recent make.  The background layer was stamped with The Greetery's "Seed Catalog", topped with a beautiful piece of copper metallic cardstock that was dry embossed (Stampin' Up!, but not sure of the name).  The final pieces to add were some cute little houses (Stampin' Up! "Holiday Home"), stamped simply in black and edges gently inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The sentiment is a digital, from The Graphics Fairy.

Hope you have a blessed day!

Birdcage Neutrals

I loooove a neutral color theme, and take delight in making a card with it.  On a scrap of kraft cardstock, I stamped Stampin' Up! "Elements of Style" toile flower in background, also in a kraft color.  Then the Hampton Arts "Bird Cages" was stamped on top of it, in black.  The grungy paper layer behind it is a digital image from I think My Porch Prints.  The two little labels added were stamped from Tim Holtz "Curator" and Globeland "Vintage Numbers" (a brand I find on Amazon; good prices, good quality).

Thanks for taking a peek, and have a wonderful day!
