Seashell by the Seashore

Hello!  This week at Topflight Stamps our theme is  Beach / Ocean!  I used several items to create a moody ocean themed card.  On a couple of pieces of watercolor paper scraps, I sprinkled PaperArtsy Infusions Dye Sleight Blue powder then spritzed with water liberally.  Once dry, I used Studio Light Scenery Borders Waves die set to cut out some waves. I set those aside and used the PaperArtsy Sara Naumann Mini 118 seashell stamp to create a focal point on ivory cardstock, stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.  On the card base, I used a PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Summer Edition sentiment stamp and Lavinia Dye Ink Soft Cygnet, stamped repeatedly across the background.  Final touches were some enamel dots from my stash, and Hunkydory Classic Pearls.

Below are the watercolor paper scraps I created with the PaperArtsy Infusions Dye in Sleight Blue.  Aren't they beautiful as-is?

IndigoBlu Christmas Card

Hello! At Topflight Stamps this week our focus is on the brand, IndigoBlu!  I used their Christmas Dictionary stamp - fabulous background.  Love the old font.  I stamped it in VersaFine Onyx Black on a neutral colored panel, and layered this panel on a red card base.  The focal point is a trio of holly leaf postage stamps from AALL & Create's Carols and Cancellations, carefully trimmed and colored with alcohol markers.  I created garlands with PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Mini 92 stamp, which features sprigs of mistletoe.  I trimmed out the mistletoe from four stamped images, then touched them with various shades of brown inks and added a touch of glimmer from Lindy's Stamp Gang Pixie Dust.

Look Up with Lavinia

Hello!  This week at Topflight Stamps, we're focusing on Lavinia stamps, stencils, inks and more.  I knew I wanted to create a scene with the adorable Pipspell mouse.  I gathered the Lavinia Moon, Christmas Tree Group and Pipspell, and stamped them all in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Then I inked up grass and sky using the following Lavinia Dye Inks:  Della Blue, Graphite, Olive, Green Parrot and Violet Chalk.  I used a yellow ink from my stash.  Once the inks were dry, I splashed some water onto the card to create a magical touch.  The sentiments from Lavinia Sentiment Stickers - Uplifting Collection were added at the end:  "Look up and breathe..."

Strawberry Tag with PaperArtsy

Hello all!  This week at Topflight Stamps we are focusing on the PaperArtsy brand.  It's a vast category, they have so many products in our store!  For my tag, I began with a couple of Fresco Chalk Paint in two colors:  Spring and Winter Green and paired them with PaperArtsy Alison Bomber PS487 and PS472 Large Stencils.  After the background was dry, I carefully glued down some petite strawberry plants, courtesy of PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Strawberry Edition stamp set.  They'd been stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on scrap white cardstock, colored and fussy-cut.  I also stamped and cut out the words that come with that stamp set:  botanical, medicinal, floral and herbal, and added them on here individually.  There's a round label that comes with the set too, and I used that, plus a postage stamp image from the PaperArtsy Alison Bomber Rosehips Edition stamp set.  They decorate a piece of abaca ribbon I've had for decades.

Nesting Robins

Hello!  You've got Colleen here for an Anything Goes week at Topflight Stamps!  Considering we're in springtime, I have birds and nests on my mind.  I needed a New Home card for someone special, so I pulled out Visible Image "Christmas Robin" stamps as well as PaperArtsy Alison Bomber "House & Home" stamp set.  On a scrap of cardstock, I used Versafine Clair ink in Fallen Leaves to stamp the birds (mom and baby), then fussy-cut them out.  I had some punched leaves from my stash to snuggle around them to create a nest vibe.  I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp the sentiment and add it toward the top of the card.  It's a quote from Laura Ingalls Wilder: "Home is the nicest word there is."  I also added some pearls as "eggs" in the nest.  These are from Hunkydory.  One of my fave accents!

Rosehips for Spring

Happy lovely Thursday to you all!  For our Mother / Springtime themes this week at Topflight Stamps, I've got a pop of color for spring to share with you.  I got to play with the main image from PaperArtsy / Alison Bomber's Rosehip stamp set by using a watercoloring technique.  On watercolor paper I stamped the rosehips image with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  On a clear acrylic stamping block, I smeared some Lavinia Soft Cygnet dye ink and spritzed it with water.  I painted this on the whole panel (except the image) in several stages, to get deepening color in some areas.  Then I painted the image using a few hues of Distress dye inks, plus Lavinia Pixie Green and Truffle dye inks.  I used a couple other stamps from the Rosehips set:  a postage stamp (top right corner) and the sentiments (springtime / rise and put on your foliage), all of these stamped on a scrap piece of white cardstock and properly distressed to look aged.  On the top right and bottom left corners of the watercolor panel, I used the Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp Chou & Flowers Brittany Text.
