International Leaves

The Post Script background from Stampin' Up! makes its debut here!  I bought this stamp for a great price at an SU sale a couple of years ago, and finally, I've used it.  You know how it goes, too many stamps, not enough time.  😉

I like the look of it, and should remember to put it into action more.

Inspired By Stamping Vintage Postcards 'Palermo' postmark; Stampin' Up! Post Script background; Tim Holtz / Sizzix Tattered Leaves dies; Papertrey Ink Keep It Simple: Get Well sentiment; My Favorite Things Slanted Sentiment Strips die; Distress Ink Sprays (assorted)

That top leaf was fun to color up with a whole bunch of Distress Ink Sprays.

Autumn will be here soon, and I am so ready!

Sweet Coffee

Hello friends, Happy New Year!  It's been a tough week for our country.  My emotions have been up and down.  One thing I remind myself is that God is in control.  So important to keep looking at Him, and not at the circumstances around us.

I have a card to share today, and I am playing in challenges, too.  That makes my heart happy. 😊

Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous - Fresh Brewed Blueprint coffee stamp; Quick Kutz Hot Drink coffee cup die; Memory Box Classic Tags circle tag die; twine; Stampin' Up! Brown Sugar cotton twine

This is a birthday card for my youngest daughter, who discovered the elixir of coffee while in her first semester at college.  I began drinking coffee when I was about 22 years old, and I never looked back.  LOL

Here are the challenges I am playing in:

  • Krafty Chicks Challenge #541 - Stamp Act - use a stamp
  • Time Out Challenge #178 - Life In The City.  My daughter goes to college in the city, so this is where she drinks her coffee!
  • NBUS - never before used stuff!  The Tim Holtz coffee stamp and Quick Kutz coffee cup die are new to me
  • The Card Concept - Winter Warmth - my style is Clean & Layered (was a bit tricky to pick a style I used here, but I think this might be the best match).  I was inspired by the warm winter drink -- although, hey, I drink coffee ALL year!

The weekend is upon us, and I'll be baking cookies called Pumpkin Rocks from Maida Heatter's Cookie cookbook.   (Though I found the exact cookbook I own on Amazon, which is featured in this link, the price is a staggering $104.34 for the hardcover version.  Are you kidding me??)

Psalm 121:1-2 ESV
A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

God bless you!

Mend A Broken Heart, You Are Amazing & Miss Your Smile

Hello everyone!  I'm popping in real quick to share a few more creations that had made their way to Arts Plus Gallery in Collingswood for sale, before the coronavirus quarantine took over.

Unity Stamps Mend Your Heart thimble, needle, sentiment stamps; Gina Marie Designs Eyelet Elegance Rectangle die; Kat Scrappiness Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangles die; buttons; doily; Spellbinders oval die

Stampin' Up! A Little Smile sand dollar, sentiment stamps; Impression Obsession Starfish stamp; Golden Acorn Scallop Shell stamp; Hero Arts Canvas Stripes Background stamp; pearls; L'il Inker Designs Stitched Rectangle die

Papertrey Ink Happy Hydrangea flower and frame stamps, matching dies, and Pen & Ink sentiment stamp; Sizzix/Tim Holtz Bricked embossing folder
Since my last post, a lot has taken place here at home.  I cleaned every item in my china cabinets, and shined up the glass shelves and polished the wooden ones.  That is a HUGE undertaking.  I rarely do it because it is so time-consuming.  But, it's finished now, and will hold me for a while. 😀  I am also polishing some silver items like baby cups, a few special spoons we have in our kitchen drawer, and water pitchers.  Again, time-consuming, but worth it to me.  Also I cut a lot of fabric on Sunday, to make face masks for me and my family.  GOSH that took a lot of time!  Next I need to sew the straps, and then the masks.  It's slow-going, because I am still working.  And finally, we had a pretty bad water leak under our kitchen sink early Sunday morning.  It flooded the cabinet, and then across the kitchen floor, under the refrigerator and stove, and seeped into the basement and SOAKED floor joists, board games, cabinets, storage tubs...it even got into our dryer!  Unbelievable.  That was not a good way to wake up Sunday morning.  I had plans for a relaxing day, but that was not to be.  Our insurance company sent a clean up team right away, and we've got big loud fans and dehumidifiers in the kitchen and basement.  Our kitchen Pergo floor is a little buckly (I made up that word), so we may need to get a new floor.  And we just had that installed a year ago.  OH WELL.  Could be much, much, much worse!  It's just an inconvenience, after all.  😏

Other than that, this is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!  Psalm 118:24

We are here, we are healthy, and that counts for so much. 💖

Cards to Share

Hey there!  How are you all doing out there??  I hope you're keeping busy and keeping your hands washed to keep the germs at bay.  What a crazy time it is right now!  We are doing our part and staying in unless it's absolutely essential to run to the store.  My husband and I are taking walks in the evening, and it feels good to get some fresh air.

I had a little time this evening to photo-edit some cards from a while back, so I'm sharing today:

Stampin' Up! - 'thanks' sentiment (unsure of set); calendar panel; Webster's Pages - silver lace fabric

Papertrey Ink - Inside and Out: Birthday II sentiment; Stampin' Up! - Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits dies

Momenta - Hello sentiment; Altenew - One of A Kind flower stamp; Stampin' Up! wooden flower; Simon Says Stamp - Stitched Circle die; My Favorite Things - Scalloped Rectangle die

My Favorite Things - Inspired By Spring sentiment, Scalloped Rectangle die; Martha Stewart Hydrangea Punch; Stampin' Up!  Itty Bitty Accents flower punch

My Favorite Things - Ewe and Me Forever sheep, flowers; Lucky -  clouds; Grassy Fields dies

The sheep card is definitely 'cutesy', and I had made it for my youngest daughter's 17th birthday.  She has always loved animals, and at the time, this sheep stamp set by My Favorite Things was new to me, so I played around with it and created a scenic card.

The Craft's Meow - Owl Be Thinking of You sentiment, stars; assorted scraps from my desk

Tim Holtz - Tattered Leaves die; Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves oak leaf die; Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin - You Are My Anchor sentiment, Le Jardin Botanique leaf stamp
The last card is my least favorite in the line-up today.  I was trying to use elements that were on my desk at the time, and make it look cohesive.  Instead, it looks a bit busy to me now.  LOL 😆

Thanks a bunch for joining me today.  Stay safe and stay well, and God bless you!

Christmas Collection

Season's Greetings! It has been so long since I last posted something here on my blog.  I'm not sure if I'm reaching anyone with this greeting or not, but a big HELLO to you if you're reading this!

Gosh, life sure gets busy, doesn't it?  With work and home and family taking center stage in my days, it's no wonder I get very little time to blog.  I do, however, continue to make cards and love every minute of this wonderful hobby of ours.  The cards I'm sharing today are, ahem, from a year or two ago.  I know, I know! 😬 I'm sorry I don't have the newest cards photo-edited for today's post.

Let's get started with the goods:

My Favorite Things shiny silver cardstock

Stampin' Up!: Naughty or Nice santa stamp, Stripes embossing folder; Papertrey Ink: Fancy Flakes snowflake die

I hope to be back again here soon.  This was fun to visit with you today!  If I don't get a chance to post again before Christmas, let me wish you the Merriest of Christmases!
Remember the reason for the season:

John 3:16 16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 9:15 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Blessings,

Masculine Collage Cards

Collage cards are among my favorites to make.  I appreciate the challenge of taking elements that look good together and grouping them to create a lot of visual interest.  I actually do the same thing to the walls in my home, using different items together to create a cohesive look.

The cards featured in this post also happen to have a masculine feel to them.  I used earth tones on every single one.  I let the stickers and die cuts influence the color palette.

Hope you enjoy.

Altenew 'Sentiments & Quotes' sentiment - Inspired By Stamping 'Creative Tags' script tag stamp

Tim Holtz 'Tattered Leaves' die - Papertrey Ink 'Tiny Tags' sentiment - Stampin' Up! 'Autumn Fest' acorn

Many of these stickers are years-old, from K & Company.  You can tell they're older.  LOL  Their time has come and gone, but I really wanted to use them on these cards.

Thanks for taking a peek!  God bless you!
