Inspired By Stamping July Release Recap - 'Baby Girl'

Now that the new July releases are in the store at Inspired By Stamping, I wanted to whet your appetite one more time with a card featuring two new sets, Delicate Doilies II and Heartfelt Greetings.

Delicate Doilies II

Heartfelt Greetings
I made a lovely pattern with the doilies and filled in a few areas with darker pink flowers from a set called Oh, Baby! and then some bling was added. The fancy frame die cut was dotted with Liquid Pearls.

On the inside of the card, I used a couple of doilies and a sentiment from Oh, Baby!

Don't forget -- you can still use the freeshipping code at the store, but only until 11:59 PM EST tonight!  It's good on anything in the store.

Check out what the rest of the team has for you, too:

Play Date Cafe 140 - Hi!

This is my second post for today.  To see my project for Inspired By Stamping,
scroll down one post or click HERE.

Caribbean Blue, Shoreline and Sunshine are the colors for the Play Date Cafe this week.  How summery!

I used some papers and a die cut from the Salt Air Collection by Cosmo Cricket, which I was fortunate enough to win some months back from Moxie Fab World.  The colors were so similar to our color palette this week!  And since I was already going with a sea-worthy array of goodies, I used this ADORABLE octopus from DeNami (link in details section below).  He arrived in my mailbox late last week.  :-D  (Thank you, Paulina!)

The sentiment is made with Doodlebug Alphabet by Doodlebug Designs.  And see the splash next to the octopus?  Those are Tear Drop Rain Dots by Cloud 9.  Bought 'em at JoAnn's months and months ago, and finally broke into the package.

I used to decorate a lot of packages with tulle instead of ribbon, and have quite a bit of it left.  It seemed like a nautical piece to add, along with some twine.

Our special guest at The Play Date Cafe this week is none other than Teri Anderson!  She's one of the Go-To Gals at Paper Crafts Magazine, and is such a celebrity in this paper-crafting world.  We're so excited to have her!

The sponsor of the Cup of the Week Prize is none other than Simon Says Stamp!

'Inspired by Stamping' Inspiration Challenge #17 - Cheers!

Welcome to a new challenge at 'Inspired by Stamping'!  Joanna always features the most beautiful photos as inspiration for the challenges.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I was inspired by the script on the flower vase, and those amazing flowers themselves.  The Girls' Paperie floral paper was just the ticket, with shades of pink, yellow, and blue (it's light, in the background). To tie in the script, I used several things:  a piece of an old German book page (sent to me by Maria aka rieslingmama - thanks, Maria!), four stamps from Vintage Postcards, and the main sentiment/frame from All Year Wishes I.

LOVE that bit of German book page on here - it ties in well with the  'foreign mail' stamp theme!

See the 'Post Card' stamp over the flowers?  It's one of many post card stamps in this set.

Continuing with the script/foreign mail theme:  an Italian postmark, also from Vintage Postcards.  The 'Cheers' sentiment somehow reminds me of the English saying, "Cheerio!", and when I layered a few bits of doily under it, it reminded me of the movie character Austin Powers.  ;-)

Remember, there's a new 'Inspired by Stamping' Inspiration Challenge each Thursday.  Please do come by and play with us!  It would be so nice to see you there.

'Inspired by Stamping' July Sneak Peeks!

This is my second post for today.  To see my Creative Inspirations Paints
project, please scroll down one post.

Yay!  It's time for Sneak Peeks of the fabulous July releases ('July'?  Where has the time gone??) at Inspired By Stamping! (this post is photo-heavy; just saying!)

If you like the sound of FREE shipping (limited time only!) and BLOG CANDY, then please check out the end of this post.  :-)

Up first:  a tea party scene for you, using Delicate Doilies II and Tea Party.....

I had so much fun paper-piecing this tea set!  These pretty little flowers are available in the Inspired By Stamping store, too.

The sentiment is just so sweet, isn't it?  I used a Delicate Doilies II border for the bottom of the interior of the card.

Next up:  a Tea Box, the perfect size for filling with some special blends.  Once again, I used Tea Party to help set the tone for the gift.

This box started life as a plain, unadorned kraft box.  I wiped it first with Very Vanilla craft ink, then with Whispering White craft ink to give it a subtle, mottled appearance.

I paper-pieced the beautiful tea pot with some paper from Basic Grey's Wassail.

The sentiment is from the same set, also, and the pretty flower can be found HERE at the IBS store.

I dyed the white lace to a sort of ecru color, by placing the lace in a plastic baggie and spritzing Khaki Glimmer Mist into the bag.  I mushed it around a bit until the color was absorbed, and then let it air dry.

The next card is for a baby boy.  Inspired By Stamping is releasing this most lovely alphabet set called Fancy Alphabet.  I stamped upper and lower case letters to create a vintage children's book-page vibe, and inked the edges of the panel.

On the card base, I stamped Delicate Doilies II repeatedly in different colors (listed at end of post) and inked the edges of that, too.

I just had to mix in some stamps from Oh, Baby! (available now in the store) to decorate the ribbons.  The pacifier, bottle and bib come from that set.  It's the sweetest baby set!

My last card showcases the versatility of another July release set:  Yummy Food Labels.  As the name suggests, this stamp set offers mix-and-match ways to create food labels.   And just look what else you can do with it!  The 'Gourmet' oval label is from the set.  I found free clip art of a vintage tomato sign and thought it highlighted this label perfectly.

I created my own monochromatic patterned paper by stamping a few of the words that come in the set, sometimes horizontally, sometimes vertically.  And that large tomato?  Just the same vintage clip art, enlarged and trimmed out.

Now, about that FREE shipping -- Friday through Saturday only, use the code freeshipping at checkout.  It's good on anything in the store!

Creative Inspirations Note Card Set

Hello!  It's my turn to feature a project over at Creative Inspirations Paints challenge blog.  I made myself a set of note cards that happen to be the same size as a standard A2 greeting card, but this is one layer only.  It's something simple to slip into a package when you want to jot a quick note and be mail-friendly.

I used the Swirly Parchment Frame stamp from Sweet Stamps (link in section below) in cocoa to create the border.  In kraft ink, I stamped a flower from Natural Beauty (SU) and then painted the images with the pretty CIP paints.

Here's a better look at that shimmer:

In person, these paints are just full of gorgeousness.  It's hard to experience it with a flat photo.

August marks the 3rd anniversary of Creative Inspirations Paints, and Molly, owner of CIP, will be having a SALE!  As soon as I have more details, I will share them with you.  :D

Thanks for coming by today!

Enjoy Life

Hello everyone!  If you live in an area that's been super hot, I sure hope you're keeping cool in some way.  And if you are in an area where there's TOO much rain....please send some to the East Coast!  We're parched.  Seems like one extreme or another lately.  :/

I just discovered that Market Street Stamps has a block party going on, but only until tonight.  With a short window of time, I decided to go clean-and-simple.

I used two MSS stamps:  Houndstooth and a sentiment from Riding By.  The only other ingredients were a couple of K & Co. stickers and a length of vintage ribbon from my grandmother.

I'm also entering this at CAS-ual Fridays

and in Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge:  Summer Theme.  I've referenced taking the time to enjoy the garden, which is a big part of my life in the summer.

While visiting different blogs this morning, I found out that my 'Twinkle, Twinkle' card earned honors at Ribbon Carousel!  Thanks, RC!

In the days to come this week, I've got many projects to share with you.  You'll see creations for Creative Inspirations Paints, Inspired By Stamping (it's July Release Week!!), and the Play Date Cafe.   I can't wait to show you everything!

Play Date Cafe 139 - Together Forever

Hi!  The Play Date Cafe has a new challenge for you.....Nude, Gold and Silver.  Pretty!

To create the look of my card, I sorted through a drawer of cards I've saved from years gone by, cards that were given to me by others.  You know, the brand names....Hallmark, Carlton, American Greetings, etc.  I salvaged bits and pieces to form my card front.  Every paper you see here (except for the base itself, a punched border and the sentiment panel) was trimmed from those greeting cards.

I even used the box from a bottle of perfume as part of it:

(sorry for the poor photo quality - used my 'old' camera for this one)

The sentiment is from Inspired By Stamping (link at the end of post), and it's the only stamp I used on the whole card.  See the perfume box section?  It's a beautiful silver.

I trimmed this pretty silver flower from a card front.  The gold corner is from K & Co.

What inspires you about this color palette?  I can't wait to see your metallic creation hanging in the gallery at The Play Date Cafe!

Our special guest this week is the amazingly sweet, amazingly talented Amy Tsuruta!  I just love Amy's style, and she is one of the most genuinely nice people you'll meet.  :-)

Our lovely sponsor this week is My Creative Classroom.  One lucky 'Cup of the Week' Winner gets the terrific prize!

Thanks for coming by today...it's always nice to have you visit!
