It's not a huge difference, but my mittens don't match. Just goes to show you that coloring small, detailed images is best left to a time when you are not dog-tired. :)
I'm using a new set from my recent Flourishes win, called Warm Winter Wishes. It is such an adorable set. I like the sentiments that come with it, too.
I tied a corduroy button onto my large oval punch with retired Fancy Fibers from Stampin' Up!. The mittens were colored with SU markers, but since I don't have a Soft Sky marker (don't think they ever made one), I used an ink pad and blender pen. For the cuffs and pom-poms, I custom-blended Martha Stewart Coarse Glitter in Crystal with MS Flocking Powder in Swan.
This card will be entered at Off The Wall Craftiness, whose color palette is this:
And also at Etsy Inspired Challenge, using this photo as my inspiration (courtesy of Queen of Tarts Cake Shop):
Aren't those mitten and sweater cookies too cute to eat?
One more entry: Stampin' B, with snowflakes as the challenge.
As is often the case with me, I make two of a card and they each look subtly different. Here are pix of the other card that was sponged with Soft Sky around the mittens, and the sentiment oval was placed elsewhere.
I'm off to make some Pumpkin Bread for my 9 YO's class celebration tomorrow. I'll put the recipe here later for you, if you would like to try it. It has chocolate chips in it, and if my 9 YO will eat this, then I think most picky eaters would as well. We think Kerry will be an FDA Food Inspector when she grows up, the way she eyes her food in a microscopic way for anything that looks suspicious. :)
Thanks for coming by. I always appreciate your visit!

Too cute Col! Love how you colored those mittens and that awesome texturing on the fluffy parts. Wonderful clean design, I'm predicting that this card is a winner! Also, check your e-mail, I sent you something...
I love the sweet mittens! We were scrambling around trying to find some this morning since it is snowing here!! So not ready for this. I was joking with my husband that if we wanted snow we should have stayed in NJ :) Hope you don't get too much of it like last year!
Ah, love your flocking powder and glitter. If you hadn't mentioned the coloring, I wouldn't have noticed. Love the cards...just adorable. I like the colors you used, also. So, you have a food inspector in the making at your house? How funny.
LOVE it!!! Didn't notice the mismatch until you mentioned it LOL! Fabulous layering of the nesties and I love the side zigzag punch you used. Darling card :) I could use those mittens as we got snow this weekend!!
This is beautiful! I love how you used the label nestie along with the others! Your placement of the pearls and corduroy button are fantastic embellies! LOVE this card! Thanks for sharing your talent with us at OTWC!!
This is so very, very cute, Colleen!! I'm so thrilled for you that you got to use one of your new Flourishes sets, and so soon, too!! Those mittens are just adorable. Love you layout for this, too. You rocked those OTWC colors. Great job all around :)
LOL Colleen, I'm so dogtired that I had to look and look to see why those mittens didn't match. I'll bet no one would have noticed if you hadn't said anything!
Love those flocked mittens ... adorable Etsy Inspired design.
