Reverse Spotlighting & Fall Foliage

When I was a Stampin' Up demo, I had access to their fabulous techniques gallery.  One of the techniques that intrigued me was called Reverse Spotlighting, and this card was their sample. I'ved CASE'd it pretty close, with a couple of changes. The colors my camera captured don't seem quite true-to-life...that IS Old Olive ribbon, but it looks darker.

For a great reverse spotlighting tutorial by Beate Johns, visit here at Splitcoaststampers.

I brought my camera on a walk with me recently.  Around the lake near my house, the most glorious fall foliage was beginning to show.  I think I did more stopping and photographing than actual power walking.  Just wanted to share some of the better shots I took:

Happy Fall, wherever you are!

Fabulous! Love the look of the red on kraft, very striking! And your Fall pictures are beautiful! I knew that there was a reason I liked the colder weather to come around!

These photos are BEAUTIFUL, Colleen!! I like that last one especially. Joanna is doing a photography project for Girl Scouts and last week she took our {old} camera along one afternoon when we walked down to meet Joel after school. We did more stopping for taking autumn photos than walking that day, too! We ended up being a bit late, but Joel got a chance to play on the playground a bit before we arrived. And now--most of the leaves are down!!! Thanks for sharing your pretty pix :)

This is a fabulous technique Colleen that you have executed perfectly. I love the background cardstock color as it really compliments the spot lighted images. Beautiful work. Love your fall pictures around the lake. Thank you so much for sharing that. We only get a few leaves that change here around the end of December...lol Have a great day!
