Inspired by a Target Ad

Without intending to do it, I seem to have a "series" of Inspired by.... cards.  Cards whose ideas came to me while looking at everyday items.   Today's creation is based on a Target ad.

Check out the placemat in the top of the photo.

Now check out my interpretation:
Simple looking?  Yes.  Quick to make 8 of these?  No.  Those little holly berries took forever to glue individually, and they are so dang small!   And because I mass-produced 8 of these cards, other elements that took too long in my opinion:
  • the white-embossed sentiment.  I love how it looks and I wouldn't change it for anything, but doing so many of them - sigh.
  • cranking the Big Shot to get all those Little Leaves done.  You have to do them one by one.  :~{
I am entering this card here:

If you want to see my other Inspired by.... cards, here are some links for you.

While I was typing this post, I found out I won blog candy over at CupCards To Go!  You should go see their adorable monthly kits, and they always have commenting contests.  They are fun questions to answer, too!

Okay, that does it for now.  I'm off to make another card for another challenge....one that is new to me.  Thanks for joining me.  See you soon!

And CONGRATS on winning that blog candy. So fun! I hope you'll post a photo of what you won sometime. I'd love to see your new goodies :)!!

LOVE this, Colleen! The leaves are wonderfully arranged and the dots are perfect, even though they were a pain in the butt to do LOL! Congrats on you win - enjoy the goodies :) And yes, you are correct on my blog background change up :) Old one had butterflies and flowers (which I love) and was in pastels. Love this one as the colours are so me :)

Colleen, I know the cards must have taken a while, but they sure do look beautiful and were worth the effort! You absolutely nailed the inspiration!
So glad you joined the Paper Players this week.

Gorgeous! I'm sure they were time-consuming (eeek, the teeny tiny berries...I can't imagine) but the end result is SO beautiful. I love how you used the ad for your inspiration, too. Thanks so much for playing along with The Paper Players this week! :)

Colleen, you are unbelievably creative! I love how this turned out, and I love ALL your "inspired by" cards. I can understand how it would be a lot of work to mass produce this card, even though at first it appears simple. Oh, it's so strikingly fabulous, though!
