Mark's Finest Papers 61 - Make It Sparkly

Yep, that's the challenge this week at Mark's Finest Papers:  Make It Sparkly.  My wonderful friend, Carol Hurlock, is the challenge hostess this week.

I am so excited with how this turned out!  I'm using a stamp from Floating Along, a new set from Mark's Finest Papers. I knew the water in this image would be perfect for a 'sparkly' challenge.  I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored with Copic markers.  A bit of glue and some Crystal Coarse Glitter (Martha Stewart) made the water shimmer.

The scene was trimmed and matted on black cardstock.  The frame was created with two Spellbinders dies, one nestled inside the other.

The blue cardstock was trimmed with the Garden Gate Deep Edge punch by Martha.  (loooove Martha's punches)  The cotton lace was in a blog candy pack of goodies that I won.

Want to play sparkles with us?  We'd love to see your creation!  Just link up HERE by Friday, July 1, 2011 by 3 PM EST.

Guess what I'm doing today, while Blogger puts this post on for me?  I'm meeting my friend Andrea Ewen and we are driving to Atlantic City, NJ, to meet the oh-so-talented Vicki Dutcher!  She is vacationing at the Jersey Shore, bless her heart.  Can't wait to meet you in person, Vicki!

Oh, you know I love this card! That image is colored beautifully and what a fabulous idea to make the water shimmer! The colors came out gorgeous...the nesting of the Nesties is perfect, the crochet lace is awesome and the border punch is fantastic! Wow! That's a lot of adjectives!
Looking so forward to our day together today, I've cleaned up my craft room for your "first impression"...don't expect it to be that way next time you come, LOL! See you in a few hours and be careful driving!

Colleen you lucky dawg you!!! I hope you have a day that is filled with love and memory making to last a lifetime. Sounds like so much fun-enjoy it girlfriend maybe win some big bucks on the slot machines or better yet "Blackjack".

Your card looks amazing. I love how you made the water sparkle. You know glitter is my favorite embellishment so how could I resist not hosting a challenge with sparkle.
You punched borders are awesome. This is one spectacular card.

That is a beautiful effect on the water and then the added sparkle of the bling really sets your card off, Colleen. So glad you shared this with us at Speedy's Friends.

Your swan at the lake is a jaw dropper and the "glittered water" is perfect. I love how you created the frame and yes; I love Martha's punches too!
