Home Recuperating

Hello everyone!  I just wanted to pop in and let you know that my surgery went well on Monday.  I am currently a 'prisoner' of my second floor, since the only bathroom is on that floor.  I'm not allowed to do steps yet, and not for another week.  No driving either, for two weeks.  I am seriously blessed with a wonderful husband.  He's got the housework under control, and is juggling his job, our kids and their schedules, and my care, too.  What a great guy!

This was my first time for general anesthesia.  I had thought I'd be sore, of course, but that my mind would be sharp and I'd be doing all this reading in bed.  Nope!  I've been doing a lot of sleeping and 'zoning out.' Someone usually brings me the laptop once or twice a day, so I have limited computer access.

Remember that 'Artful Frame' I had entered in a challenge, and asked for your votes?  Unfortunately, I did not place at all.  :(  HUGE disappointment.  Thanks to those of you who did vote for me.  I really appreciated it.

One happy piece of crafting news for me though -- 'Happy Birthday, Punkin' made it as a Spotlight Artist at City Crafter.  It was nice to find that waiting for me after coming home from the hospital.

It's going to be a little while longer until I can have crafting time again, and visit all of you at your blogs.  I miss you!

Hugs to you,
Colleen

Sleep, zoning out and a good DH are the perfect remedies for getting back to stamping... when you are ready! Meanwhile, enjoy being waited on! :) Glad your surgery went well!!

So glad you are home recovering and surgery went well. Anesthetic and I do not get along at all - I puke for 24 hours afterwards.

Just make sure you get your laptop regularly so you can feel connected and koodoes to your hubby for holding the fort :) Huge (((hugs))) and hope you feel yourself sooner than later.

'So glad you're on the mend, Colleen. I sincerely thought your frame was the best project among the group! There must have been some serious "ballot stuffing" going on for that not to have placed! I hope you'll soon be up and around and creating like crazy! XO Gail XO

I'm glad your surgery went well and you are able to rest and recuperate while someone else takes care of everything. I hope your recovery will be swift so you can get back to crafting. I thought your frame was the best of the lot and got my votes in. I agree with Gail, someone must have been stuffing ballots.

Hi Colleen! I'm so glad you are home and you have a wonderful hubby to help out around the house. You will be up and around in no time and I can't wait to see more of your work! I was so sad to see that your frame didn't place over at MSS. I voted for you every day! Don't be disappointed though, the frame was truly one piece of BEAUTIFUL artwork Colleen!

Wishing you a speedy recovery Colleen. It's amazing how much sleep it takes for the body to heal. Just enjoy it. I slept the whole month of August and missed summertime here. but oh well, i wouldn't have been much use if i hadn't

Glad to hear your surgery went well. I think a doctor told me sleeping a lot meant you were healing well!!! Too bad about the contest, but you are so talented and it was based on votes. :-( Dumb excuse I know. LOLOL Great husband and kids and you'll be well in no time. Don't overdo!!

Glad to get some news from you, Colleen. Recovery will be over before you know it but I'm sure you are getting a bit more rest than you cared for. No trick or treating for you tonight. Congrats on your spotlight card. Take care.

Colleen, don't be disheartened about not being placed. It doesn't make your work any less beautiful! I'm sorry you're still suffering but it's lovely to see you for a fleeting moment on here. Been thinking about you a lot. LOVE your little PDCC card, what a great idea to do a plaster for the colours, love it!
