Cherish The Hydrangea

It's no secret how much I love hydrangeas.  Seems many of my online crafty friends know it, too.  Recently, I received a birthday package from my friend, Carol.  This dainty hydrangea paper was in it, and I just had to use it right away!  (thank you so much, Carol!)

I've wanted to play along with Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday challenge for soooooo long, but never got 'round to it.  Finally, I had time.  Here's the sketch - it's such a pretty one:

The hydrangea sticker is one I've been hoarding, from K & Co., set on a doily.  You know how flimsy doilies are.  I learned from my friend Ann that a good way to fortify it - and make it more opaque - is to place a white cardstock circle behind it.  Now why didn't I think of that?  LOL

The gorgeous sentiment is from Flowers Bloom by Inspired By Stamping.

Have you heard that Google is removing its Reader as of 7/1/2013?  There's a quick article about it HERE.  Boo hoo!  It has been such a convenient way of seeing all the new posts of blogs I follow.  I will miss seeing my Followers' friendly faces on my sidebar, too.

I just signed up at Bloglovin, but there are other options out there.  (click on the link above for a few others mentioned in that article)  It was easy, free, and they automatically transferred over all of the blogs I currently follow.  If you would like to follow my blog via Bloglovin, there's a button on my sidebar to click on.  Or, if you want updates from Dietrich Designs delivered right to your email inbox, just enter your email address in the Feedburner Subscribe box on my sidebar and follow the instructions.  Let me know if you have any questions - you can email me at bcdietrich@verizon.net.

This new huge change from Google should be interesting!

Beautiful card. I love hydrangeas too. In fact, I just bought my first hydrangea plant on Tuesday. Here's to hoping I don't kill it! :-)

Hi Colleen! I guessed this was yours as I was scrolling this gorgeous card up to see the full picture! Love it!
Thanks for the recommendation for BlogLovin - I keep seeing people jump on the bandwagon, so I think I may as well make the move myself. I agree, I will miss my Reader.......

I would have picked this beauty out of a line up as being yours Colleen!!! The paper from your friend is lovely and so proud of you for using a hoarded item (I'm trying to get better at that!).

What's a girl to do with this reader business!!??!! I guess I didn't realize we wouldn't have our little followers pics ~ that's just sad :(

This card could not be better suited to you and your blog. Gorgeous hydrangeas and use of Chupa's sketch.

Thanks for the bloglovin' link. I looked at Feedly and wasn't too happy wtih it so this is a nice option.

Question: Where do you get the "follow" icon for it to put on your blog? Would love to add it to mine.

This is beautiful, Colleen! I can see why you hoarded that sticker - it was waiting for this perfect paper to go with :)
Reader disappeared from my Blogger dashboard this week. I was hoping to take my time before switching over, but I hopped on the bloglovin bandwagon also. It's no Reader, but it seems fairly functional so far. Oh, how I hate change :(

Your hydrangea sticker is gorgeous and so is the paper from sweet and talented Carol. Thanks for the tip about the doily.
I already signed up with Bloglovin'. I'll really miss Google Reader. I hate changing.

What a fabulous card Colleen - the Hydrangea sticker is wonderful, and the papers are a perfect match. Absolutely love it!

Re. bloglovin - I guess I will have to take the plunge, but I'm not sure what will happen to my current Followers and I would be so upset if they disappear!

Have a happy weekend -
Hugs, Sylvia xx

Oh WOW!!! Your card is gorgeous my friend. Those hydrangeas have me smiling. I have never used a reader before. But with all the buzz in blogland lately I thought I would try one.. And Bloglovin is the one I am using. I like it so far.

The hydrangeas are beautiful, both the paper and the sticker! Gorgeous card! I never remember to check my Google reader, which is why I like to subscribe by email. Surprising how many blogs don't offer the email subscription option. I'm glad you do, even if it takes me a while to get here.
