Zinnia Sympathy

Sympathy cards seem to be snapped up rather fast at the shop where I sell my cards :-/ so I've been busy making some more to fill the void.  Thought I'd play along in a couple of challenges, too.

I used blossoms from Stampin' Up!'s Reason To Smile, which has been in my possession for, oh, at least a year now, and never used.  One of my old SU faves, Old French Script, is subtle in the background.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches.

Challenges entered:

  • Simon Says Stamp - April Showers and/or Spring Flowers
  • Flourishes - Summer Lovin' - be inspired by the photo colors/elements or summer

My craft studio in the attic is complete now, and I need to take pictures to show you all.  I love the solitude I get up there!

Speaking of photos, I have new photos to share on my other blog, bleu hydrangea, if you have time to visit.  They're full of Easter goodness!

Dimensions: 4.25" x 5.5"
Stamps: Salutations - Paper Smooches; Old French Script, Reason to Smile - SU
Paper: white - PTI; Regal Rose - SU
Ink: Antique Linen - Ranger; Memento Tuxedo Black - Tsukineko
Fibers: white seam binding - Hug Snug
Other: Copic markers; oval die - Spellbinders

Thank you so much, Colleen, for stopping by. I have been busy with IO and making memory easel cards for the Sandy Hook families. I had no idea how I would get into adding charms for their favorite things. Your card is so elegant and I know will be treasured!

Perfect sympathy card, Colleen...soft and beautiful.

I'm glad you like my garden on Pinterest. It has been a lot of work but usually when Spring is over, it is just mostly mowing the grass for my hubby and we can relax some. That is, unless I want to set something else. :-)

I'll eagerly await photos of your new craft room. I'm sure I'll love it.

I think sympathy cards are difficult to do. Sometimes I see ones that I think are downright cheery...and inappropriate. Yours here is an example of what one should be... elegant, pretty, but serious, as is fitting to the occasion. Excellent work!
