I'm still making a few Valentines here. Last night I whipped up a few of these (going against my usual 'one only of each design' creed), because they are so easy.
I found some red embossed cardstock in one of those $1.00 scrap bags I used to buy. I punched some hearts out of it, and added green leaf ribbon that I won eons ago from Really Reasonable Ribbon. A little 'xoxo' sentiment from Hero Arts and that was it!
You'll think I'm kooky, but I could not decide which picture to place in the post, so I included both! The top one has a cooler temp, and the bottom one is warmer. I played with the color tools on my photo-editing software, GIMP (it's free), and achieved both filters that way. Which do you prefer?
I'm entering at Addicted To CAS: 'LOVE'
and the Ribbon Reel's last challenge (oh no!), 'Be My Valentine.' Inspiration photo:
And though it might be a long shot, I'm taking a chance at Less Is More too. This week it's One Layer, Anything Goes. Is my heart a layer? Or just an embellishment? Hmmm. Not sure what the judges will think!

Super cute - what a great idea! I like picture number 1 - LOL! Hugz!
Really beautiful design Colleen. How lucky to find such gorgeous leaf ribbon ... and the embossed heart "bloom" is so pretty. Perfect CAS Valentine's Day card!
Both pictures are pretty similar in color, but think I like the warmer one a bit better. Haven't tried GIMP, but will have to look into that. Thanks. Loll xx
CAS perfection, Colleen! I think I like the first one best.
This is gorgeous!! I loveeeeeeeeee that heart!!!!!!
So beautiful and elegant Colleen! I'm totally in love with the CAS beauty you have created!
By the way, I like the first picture more. :)
Gorgeous CAS card with lovely heart and stem! I can't decide on which photo I like best! I'm with you I like them both.:-)
Geez, I just about choked as my breath caught in my throat when I saw this sensational card, Colleen!! So touchable and so pretty! I like the cool first one better. I think the whiter white makes the red and green pop more. Hugs, Darnell
Well they may have been quick and easy but they really pack a punch!! I like the first one, it's crisp and bright!
What a stunning CAS card! Love it!
I think I like the first photo best:)
beautiful card
Very pretty (simple, yet elegant)! And I think I prefer the first. The white is more white (although, both are indeed nice).
Stunning design and love all the embossing. The photos look quite similar but I think I like the first one x
Such a beautiful CAS card, Colleen. I think I like your first card the best. I really do like very white cards, though. Hard decision.
Perfectly CAS, Colleen!! I like the first photo best :). I always question whether "an embellishment" adds a layer or not, too!
delightfully simple and elegant.
Simply and elegant. Beautiful. Janny

Beautifully elegant.
The red looks just like SU!'s Petals Aplenty embossing folder. Beautiful and simple. I always love how red and white look together, especially when the white outweighs the red. Very nice, Colleen! I always fuss with my photos and am never satisfied. They look different on every computer, so I don't know what to do with them, really. Since you asked, I think I like the cooler photo since it's a white card. If I didn't have them to compare I would think the second photo was great. They both look good.
I think you were right to wonder about the one layer bit Colleen...as it is the main image it would be deemed a layer!
But do join us again...it is a fab card!
Thanks so much
Chrissie
Less is More
I know what you mean with one only of each design. But there is nothing wrong with breaking a rule :). The design is modern and also subtle. And I love it. One of the quotes here is "never change a winning team". Which means; it's not always necessary to change something that works really well.
Your card is lovely; and remember.....no one from your friends and family is receiving this cards twice. They only have one mailbox:)
About editing; my personal preferences are with bright photos. But that's my opinion. I love the bright and crisp look of the first photo.
Hope all is well; sending a hug!

LOVE the embossed heart with that leaf ribbon! I HAD to have that ribbon and wasn't sure how to use it! YOUR CAS design is just Perfect!
What a wonderful card my friend. I LOVE it.. I think the top card looks best. But to tell you the truth both look wonderful..
Hugs~
