A Pansy for Mother's Day

Hi friends!  For today's Mother's Day card, I pulled out an oldie-but-goodie Stampin' Up! set, Flowers of Gratitude.  I love the old-fashioned feel of these stamps.  The pansy is one of my favorite flowers, and was also a fave of my husband's grandmothers.

The trimmed-out flower was set on a pale Country Estate Frame by Unity, which was also fussy-cut. They were both mounted on a moss green fancy oval die cut.  I wanted to bring in some of the green in the leaves by adding that oval.

Meet my new Hug Snug seam binding:  Periwinkle.  Ain't she beautiful?  Sigh. (my fave color is purple)

Thanks so much for coming by today!  I've got one more Mother's Day card to share this week, so see you soon.

Stamps: Country Estate Frame - Unity; Flowers of Gratitude - SU; sentiment - Spring Blossoms - Inspired By Stamping Paper: Lovely Lavender, Mellow Moss, yellow pattern - SU; text pattern - My Mind's Eye? Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black - Tsukineko; Crumb Cake - SU Fibers: Periwinkle seam binding - Hug Snug Accessories & Tools: Floral Ovals die - Spellbinders; Copic markers; pearls

Pansies always seem to have an old-fashioned look to them, but even more so with the pretty frame and the absolutely gorgeous card you made for it. The colors are wonderful. I think it's time for Hug Snug shopping. Seam binding and silk are my two faves for ribbon. I do like SU!'s taffeta, too.

I am in love with this card! Very elegant and your image is just gorgeous against the stamped and fussy cut BG and die cut. The ribbons are lovely. It will be treasured!
