Quick Sets of Thank You Cards

Hello friends!  I'm sharing some quick, one layer thank you card sets I made recently.  My daughter turned 16 (!!) and needed these.   Man, does THAT make me feel old! ;)

In keeping with my self-challenge to use things I have, and try not to buy anything new, I pulled out an Inkadinkado set called Chandeliers for the cards above.  The sentiment is from Flourishes' Thank You set.

On the cards below, I used Practicing Creativity's Nature's Wonder, and used a stamping-off technique. Only Old Olive and Regal Rose were used, but by continuing to stamp again and again with the same dab of ink, it looks like I've got more shades of the same hue.

Another way I've used my self-challenge:  these 3.5" x 5" card bases have been languishing in my drawer from heaven-knows-where, for who knows how long.  Finally, they've been put to use! And, best of all, they are mailable at this minimum size accepted by the US Postal Service.

I know these aren't anything all that special, but sometimes you just need flat cards to help save on postage. Thanks for taking a peek!

On, now I beg to differ...these ARE too special. They're lovely cards! And you know, I'm 'flattening' out my own cards a bit now. A card is meant to be sent. I love a pretty card, but if it's for looks only, it's not my thing. The same way I now leave the insides less decorated - I realized that anyone signing a card needs space to write. These cards are beauty meets practicality...a winning combination indeed!

Oh, but you are wrong, Colleen! To my CAS-loving heart, these are VERY special, indeed! I love the stamped off flower so much!! I remember doing that technique all the time and loving it. Now I'm inspired to make some lovely OLCs using that technique again!

Good job on your self-challenge, too! If any of those crafty items happened to be virginal, please link up with my NBUS challenge! Or make something different ... I'd love to have you join in! Hugs, Darnell

Gosh, I thought the first cards were pretty, and then you had to go and show the second cards, too, sigh... I love that they're flat and that you're making use of what you have on hand. I could go forever with what's in my stamp room right now. I don't actually shop very often, but when I do I make up for lost time!
