I Know Why The CASE'd Bird Sings

I just couldn't resist that title.

This is a card I am CASEing from my friend, coffeestamper/aka Sue, on Splitcoaststampers.  It pretty much looks just like hers.  And when I thought of a post title, "CASE'd Bird" sounded like "Caged Bird" to me and this poem from Maya Angelou came to mind.  If you'd like to read it, visit here.

After I made this clean and simple card, I decided to add a couple more branches for the bird to rest upon.

My family preferred this version unanimously.

Then I wanted to get a bit fancier and brought out a punch and a die cut.

Which one do you prefer?

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Six holiday cards down, many more to go!

Can I share a bit of happy news?  Yesterday I found out that I was the winner of some fabulous blog candy over at The Stampin' Schach.  If you go to Ann's blog through this link I gave, the photo of my prizes is a bit further down her post.  Recently, I discovered Ann's blog, and I really like her creations.  A neat coincidence:  when Random.org picked my number as the winner, it was #139.  That was the number of the house I grew up in!  It made me smile.

It's raining here today, and my 12 YO is home sick.  Gonna go hang out with her now.
Thanks for joining me!

Happy Stamping,

Colleen

Glad someone else polls their family LOL! Gorgeous card. Love the red against the white and your fancy version is great! I may have to case this when I finally get this punch!

I like all of the cards but I think I'm partial to the second one. Love the title!

All are very pretty but I like the last one best-the bird looks more grounded some how.

I love the final version as well, what a great progression you posted. It's great to see your "creative ingenuity" at work! Lovely CASEd CAS card, love that mostly white background with a splash of color!
Hope your daughter is feeling better!

You are one punny gal, Colleen!! I love your post title :) I think all three of these cards are wonderful. It's great to see all the different designs you tried out. That's one versatile CASE!! And hey, CONGRATS on winning that blog candy package!! I took a look at the booty photo, and it looks like you are in for a treat. Lots of fun stuff!! Those corduroy buttons are especially drool-worthy (but then I have a thing for buttons). Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!

All three look fab,I don't whether I can decide. If I was pushed I think I'd choose the first one, just because I love all the white space.
Congrats on the win, how lovely.
