Happy Holidays

Color Throwdown has a very Christmas-y color challenge this week.  Check out the colors:

I tried to use up some skinny paper scraps (all Stampin' Up!, from those $1 Scrap Bags), and came up with quite the horizontal card:

The holly and ivy cluster is from SU's Sleigh Bells Ring, stamped/colored/and trimmed.

This past weekend we had snow on Saturday, and then a layer of ice (not nice!).  By Sunday, most neighbors had shoveled their sidewalks, so my 10 YO and I took our wagon full of Girl Scout cookies 'on the road'.  We sold 20 boxes, which brings our total sold to 86!  We just started selling cookies this past Thursday, and were given an initial load of 100 to sell.  The ladies at our bank told us to come back on pay day, and we should be able to sell more!

Colleen

Stamps:  sentiment, Seasonal Poinsettias - MFP; Sleigh Bells Ring - SU
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, assorted patterned paper strips - SU
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black - Tsukineko; Walnut Stain, Frayed Burlap Distress - Ranger
Punch:  scalloped border - SU
Other:  Big Shot; jingle bell; twine - red and natural, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, lace scrap - SU; Copic markers

It's all about the jungle bell! That sweet little detail sets off the whole card!

What a great mixture of patterns and texture. I had to laugh that you buy scrap bags when I am trying to use mine up as much as possible!

Yay for having a Christmas card done!

Your card is beautiful and makes me long for Christmas...almost. :-)
Don't think I'm ready for decorating again.

You two are good sellers of those cookies. I remember when my youngest son sold hams with the Boy Scouts. They were delicious!!

My ho my girl you are the queen of card and cookies. The cookies are sold in the blink of an eye and this card; I can't get my eyes off it! It's not only the use of colors but also the patterns. And I love that embossed kraft paper. Pure beauty; you did it in a wonderful and elegant way.

And the cookies; what's your goal? 200 boxes???
Hugs!

Oh how fun, a Christmas card! It just seems sort of refreshing though Christmas was just a few weeks ago! I love the way the "o" is in holidays. Love the colors, scraps or no scraps! Plus the twine stuff and the holly is just as fun but then it is all about the jingle bell. Cut! I love doing the wallpaper embossing on kraft, oh excuse me, crumb cake with a little darker ink distressing it! My problem with that is that I get too carried away with the ink! Anyway, a great fun card!

Your card is SO sweet--a great use of skinny scraps. Your lovely design made me smile!!

Way to go to you and your Girl Scout for your phenomenal sales!! You two are scoring in a major way. Woo hoo for you both!! I can just picture the two of you "on the road" with a wagon laden with GS cookies :).
