Wow, another card I made and photographed in the same day! Wonders never cease. :)
Started with a piece of nondescript swirly yellowish patterned paper, and added my own stamping to it. I relied on French Country from Inspired By Stamping for this pretty sunflower and the fleur-de-lis, which I stamped all over. With Copic markers, I colored the flower and touched the tips with Liquid Pearls. The sentiment is from Fancy Circles.
I'm entering at Simon Says Stamp's Monochromatic challenge, ETA Jackie Rockwell's 'Lemon Zest' challenge, and in Papercraft Star's inspiration challenge.
Still on crutches with partial weight bearing in my big, nasty boot over here. I met with a physical therapist this week, who taught me to do stairs with all my get-up. It helped me big-time, 'cause I had a job interview this past Tuesday (sadly, I did not get the job), and the location of the job has no elevator, only a small flight of concrete steps. The PT lesson came in handy, and I managed with no problem. However, feeling overly confident, I began using the crutches on my carpeted steps at home, with partial success. A couple of days ago, I fell backwards and banged my head into a mirror. The frame broke (but can likely be repaired) but not the glass. Couldn't believe I did not hurt my head at all! Angels were laying me down gently, I suppose. The mirror is special; the antique frame belonged to my late father, and I'd had a piece of mirror put into it when we bought this house 18 years ago.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Gorgeous monochromatic card, Colleen. I love and want that flower. I'm so sorry, though, about the mirror frame. But most important, you did not get injured. I would hate to see you bed-ridden again.
Well first I'm glad you didn't get hurt when you fell. And finally what a PRETTY card!! That's a fab sunflower!
Oh, please be careful. Indeed you had angels on your shoulder. Your card has become very sunny.Greeting Janny
Oh my goodness! Yes, please don't fall. So happy the angels were looking out for you! Am sorry to hear about the mirror and that the frame can like be repaired! Your card is so lovely with the huge flower and accented with pretty pearls! Do take good care, hugs!
I am so glad to hear you weren't hurt. I bet that was scary. LOVE your card my friend. It has such a wonderful summery feel to it.
BTW- I used a 100mm macro lens on those shots. So I was able to stand a little bit further away than my 50mm. But I LOVE my 50mm..
Hugs~
So glad you added this card into my color challenge, it's stunning!

Is it crazy to say my favorite part of your card is how smart it is ? Well, then, so be it. lol I never would have thought to use some non-descript paper this way, and you turned it into a gorgeous sunflower. So clever you are ! I LOVE seeing your work, both here and on Pintrest, you are my favorite designer for certain. Hugs ! -J-
Love LOVE how you did this! Wonderful use of the Liquid Pearls, too. So glad to hear you didn't hurt yourself in your fall, but sorry about the mirror. And, hey, you probably didn't want that job, anyway. You'll find a better one. I'd love nothing better than to NOT be working!
CONGRATS on your win at Papercraft Star Colleen, I knew this beauty was a sure thing!!
Gorgeous card, love the stamping on patterned paper. Thanks for playing along with us in the Monochromatic challenge this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!
