Have you seen the inspiration picture at Pals Paper Arts this week? Wow, it is so cool, and very surreal.
I've seen some neat interpretations of this photo over at the PPA website.
For my card, I focused on the colors of red, gray and white, and also on the swirling bands of fabric blowing in the wind (check out the close-up pix below; the embossed red strip of cardstock)
I used several new-to-me things on this Valentine:
I was also influenced by two Splitcoast challenges:
Some close-up shots of all the textural details:
I am happy I found stamping time this morning. It's been an unexpected kind of day: my car had to go in the shop; my husband is now working from home today because of that; and I got called to sub as a Lunch Aide at my daughter's school for this afternoon.
Thanks a bunch for checking out my new card today. I am so happy to share it with you!!
Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, damask dp from MME 'Best of Damask'
Punch: String Lace by Martha Stewart, Heart-to-Heart from SU, corner rounder
Other: Big Shot, Labels One nestie by Spellbinders, crocheted fleurettes from SU, Maraschino twine from The Twinery, doily, Organic Flourish embossing folder from Cuttlebug, dimensionals, Aleene's Tacky Glue, Lattice embossing folder (SU)

I used several new-to-me things on this Valentine:
- damask paper from My Mind's Eye 'Best of Damask' paper pad
- crocheted fleurettes from Stampin' Up!, purchased at the Clearance Rack (glad I bought 7!)
- Labels One nesties from Spellbinders
- Organic Flourish embossing folder from Cuttlebug
I was also influenced by two Splitcoast challenges:
- Free For All #47 - Texturize Me; to use at least two embossing folders, and bonus points if you use one that you've never touched before (for me, that's the Organic Flourish)
- Ways To Use It #304 - Twine (look at the flower stems)
- Marks Finest Papers - embossing

Lots of things to look at-like the twine stems! Neat card.
I love your decorative work of art here using hearts as leaves and twine as a stem! TFS!

Fabulous card!! Very cool inspiration! Thanks for playing with Speedy's Friends!
Oh, what a beauty, Colleen! I'm so glad you found time for a card today. Sounds like you were lucky to find the time--you were a busy lady today. :) What a fantastic interpretation of the inspiration photo. Love the doily. Oh, and so glad you used some of your fleurettes--they are perfect for this and look adorable on the twine stems. I was just thinking this week that I need to pull mine out. I haven't used any yet! But they will be perfect for Valentine's Day. Thanks for the reminder to pull them out. :)
