Hello folks. I am working off my 12 YO's laptop, because my computer 'crashed' yesterday. It went to the shop today, and I don't know if or when we shall see it again. Boo hoo! I feel so lost without it. All my pictures are there, my files, email contacts, etc. I am still able to access email remotely, but it's not the same and I can't retrieve any emails I received before the crash. Sigh. I'm also not used to typing on a laptop with its darn flat keyboard.
Okay. Enough crying, Colleen. Show the nice people the card you made.
Something vintage, for a change. I brought out Notably Ornate, Elegant Ornaments and Touch of Nature by Stampin' Up!, some designer paper (retired but new to me) from SU as well, and a pre-dyed flower from SU's Pretties Kit (also new to me). Yes, I actually got some flowers in those $1.00 Scrap Bags from SU demo!
In the center of the flower, I have a punched-out circle from one of the stamps in the Elegant Ornaments set. And the bird is from Notably Ornate, but it's been "kissed" by a stamp in the Elegant Ornaments set. I've never tried the kissing technique before, but it's this week's Clean and Simple challenge over at Splitcoast.
Other challenges:
Wow, 6 challenges! I was just talking to one of my fellow DT members at The Play Date Cafe about combining challenges. I said it was rare for me to combine 5 or 6 at a time....that the stars had to be aligned just right for this to happen. I guess it is one of those times!
Speaking of the Play Date Cafe, did you pop by there yet to see the color story for this week? You have until 11:59 pm EST tonight to play and upload your creation. Tell them Colleen sent you, if you play!
One more thing before I go: I will be the Guest Designer at Off The Wall Craftiness later this week! I can't wait to show you my card, and for you to play over there as well. The color scheme is very classy indeed!
Thanks for joining me today!
Colleen

Wow! This is stunning. I love the Noteably Ornate set and you've inspired me to pull it out! Also love your Hydrangea banner! Are those from your garden? Miriam
Gorgeous Colleen! Love that golden yellow hue and that stunning flower...and for only a buck! Great deal! Sorry to hear about your computer, hope it comes back soon feeling better :)
Fab card! Way to combine challenges!
this is one awesome card Colleen :)
Love what you've done with the sketch, Colleen!! That big flower is fabulous as is the frame you cut out and that lovely lace. Thanks for persevering through the laptop so we can still see your wonderful creations :)
ok, is there something in the air? Our computer crashed last week and it's horrible!!! I can totally understand your frustration. We didn't bother saving ours though; it was old enough so we just replaced it. I know how you feel not having any of your files and for us none of our programs. Anyway, me likey your card too!
Very pretty! I stink at vintage and always love looking at cards by those who are good at it ;) Thanks for joining us at CPS!

Awesome card!!!
Thanks for sharing it with us at Speedy's Friends.
Oooooooh, beautiful card! Love the colors! I'm so sorry about your computer. I just live in dread of that day. It has happened to me before, and I was in a hurry to get going again -- that's when I bought my lap top. I had a hard time getting used to the keypad, but now it's like second nature. It's all I use. Got WiFi coming from the desk top, and I can lounge around wherever I want with my lap top. Love it! Have a happy day!
Ohhhhh! Pretty, pretty! You know what? I have this set too and I'm not sure I've even inked it up yet!! For shame!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi, Colleen! Oh, your crashed computer sounds so frustrating! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all of that. No fun at all. But on the upside, you have a wonderful card to show--and overcame computer woes to show it!! This vintage beauty is a stunner. I love all the images you chose for this!! Great treatment on the flower, too. I hope you get your computer back soon!
Colleen, this is such a gorgeous card. I love the vintage look and the way you stamped with the flourishes and cut out the shapes. Also, the flower is awesome with the punched center.
That is terrible about your computer! I know that awful feeling. I lost all my son's baby pictures because I was too stupid to have them backed up on disk. My hubby had our hard drive when he was deployed. Sad lesson learned! Now enough crying and onto your beautiful card!!! I love love love this! Can't wait to see what you do this week at OTWC! I may not have a job in a few months...ha! YOU WILL ROCK the color challenge and I am excited to see! Hugs!
Fabulous! I love this set! You did a fantastic job with the flourish and the bird too! Wow - thanks for sharing! (best of luck with the computer - they can be soooo frustrating!)
Hi Colleen, It amazes me how some people can do so many challenges at one time. I get so confused that it becomes too much like work! Great job on this card! Glad the stars lined up for you!
Sooooo pretty!!! Love all vintage goodies!!!
