Out-of-the-Box Poppy

Hi!  I'm really proud of this card, because I've FINALLY tried the Out-of-the-Box Technique.  Yess!!!  And it wasn't difficult, which I had always thought it would be.

Blockheads Challenge: Out of the Box Die Cutting Technique Blog Hop
Out of the Box die cutting can create some really interesting looks when the stamp image you want to cut around is larger than the die cut. Join us by submitting your examples.

The top of the poppy is 'out of the box', as you can see in the top photo above.  And I created the lacy die cut goodness using two Fancy Tags Two die cuts, plus one Fleur de Lis Motif, from Spellbinders.  And OF COURSE I had to add pearls!  My 13 YO thinks I 'over-do' pearls; I think not.  ;)  I love 'em!

Thanks for joining me today!  Hope you get to play in this technique challenge.  :o)

Good job on the 'out of the box' technique...one of my favorites. And, you know I LOVE that beautiful poppy. Lovely way to use those die cuts, too. Your card is the 'bestest', Colleen.

WOW! That's amazing! I just created a SVG file that allowed me to stamp around and then fussy cut--isn't it fun trying new things?? And I LOVE when it's not as hard as I thought it would be:)

BEAUTIFUL card--love the embossing and that beautiful flower!!! YOU=AWESOME!!!

Oh my that poppy...the way you colored it; wow! I love the design of your card. This is a wonderful technique but above that I love the way you added your signature of elegance to this card.

Gorgeous! I wouldn't change a thing! Your coloring is amazing - what a gorgeous "pop" of color. Love the technique as well. If Ann says you can never have enough pearls - well then you still have room to add more! I personally think it is just perfect though the way it is!
