Inspired by a Female Peacock

This week I have shown a couple of different cards using the new Blockheads stamp set, Proud as a Peacock {HERE, and HERE}.  They both featured brighter colors we think of when we picture a peacock.  I made this card in honor of the female peacock, whose colors are more subdued.

I used two feather stamps - they are different sizes - and stamped off the edges for interest.

For each feather, I stamped in this order: Crumb Cake ink, Basic Brown ink, and White craft ink.  I staggered the images a little, too, not stamping directly one on top of another.  I moved the stamp slightly each time.  The sentiment is from the set.

I wanted to show you how I made this card.  The base is a little larger than the actual card.  Dimensions are listed at the end of this post.

Challenge entered:  Moxie Fab World's Fascination with Feathers.  How timely!

On another note, I wanted to share with you that I've lost 10 pounds recently.  Hooray!  I do have more to lose, though.  My husband and I joined LoseIt.com, a free site that helps you responsibly set your weight loss goals, and easily track your daily exercise and calorie intake.  We joined in February of this year.  I needed a push, and this site helps me keep an eye on how I'm doing each day.  Having a weight loss partner is helpful, too. ;-)

Thanks for joining me!

These feather stamps are so cool! Love the versatility of them. I loved the colored ones, but I am loving these neutral ones too! Love how you layered them and moved the stamp each time! That is why you are the queen!

This card is just simply stunning! I had to do a double take and then look again at this amazing card! If this doesn't win some type of challenge - then the "judd's" as Brody Schach says are just plain blind! I loved the other cards but this one just really took some hard work and creative talent!

Well done on the weight loss - I need some help that is for sure! Can you move to Iowa - maybe between Ann Schach and my town so we can stamp, play and have fun as well as lose weight?

Happy birthday tomorrow, the card is in the mail (of course I gotta make it first). I have just had a really hectic week so better late than never!

This card is beautiful! I love the subdued colors.

Congratulations on the weight loss!!!! I too am losing weight (23 pounds last year). So I understand how difficult it is. I would love to lose another 20 pounds this year. At least that is my goal. Good luck with your program and let us know how it goes.
hugs,
Ellen

This is SO cool, Colleen. The neutrals look amazing, and the way you used that fancy peacock feather is very clever. I like you balanced the fancy feather with the simple card design. It works perfectly!
